debating on a religious book is altogether different from banning it and that too without any debate. In this context there should not be resistence from any group that the book/religious prescriptions can not be debated. Many Hindus do not agree with many many things regarding 'karam Kand" etc. prescribed in Hindu religion. There is no out cry. It is a matter of personal belief. Dr. Badr may be right to a great extent, but we have to listen to the othr side also. We have got to be tolerent to that extent. Only a weak philosophy can not with stand a debate or discussion.

Extremists

This ban attempt is by fundamentalist extremist Russian Christians who are feeling threatened by the increasing popularity of the ISKON. When they cannot convert they try such strategies! Christians in India must be embarrassed to see this and must feel grateful and happy that something like would not happen in India which has excellent safeguards in the judicial system and a majority of hindus who want it that way inspite of all the provocations from their missionaries. Hinds who are

A Hindu is way of life. Any Righteous person irrespective of their religion or belief is a Hindu.
It became a religion much later since everybody had to be identified.

It is a double standard....

You can only be born a Hindu. What is the purpose of sending books like Bhagwat Gita to people who cannot become a Hindu. Are we just looking for praise for our phoney society. If India can resist voluntary change to christianity, construct Hindu temples world wide, then Russia has full right to ban bg.

India is resisting involuntary conversion. After the ban Hindus will not be able to keep a copy for their reference. That is curtailing religious rights. Please try to understand the difference between chalk and cheese

Religion?
by bhalachandra singde on Dec 24, 2011 04:45 AM

Religion is a way of life and Bhagawat Gita is the prime book in the world which shows what is life, how to behave in community. First chapter only states what caused Sri. Krishna to tell in detail about the secrets of life. Next 17 chapters one should read and understand and try to mould life to attain the ultimate Truth.
