If something happens to Anna we will not keep quiet.we would either get Jan Lokpal passed or partition this country between the Honest and corrupt.

Jan Lokpal Bill: Real Issues
by sallyg on Aug 22, 2011 11:12 PM

Across the debates on various TV channels the emphasis is on trivial issues: Language being used by Team Anna, their challenge of parliamentary supremacy, subversion of democratic institutions with the implications that it is Team Anna that is at fault for having raised this issue when we have a parliament and when we also have a standing committee. The real issues were avoided by various anchors.
The real issues are:
What is the merit behind points raised by Team Anna?
What all unethical tactics the government has resorted to suppress this campaign?
Why are peaceful protesters being arrested?
Why is the government not debating these points and shielding behind hollow technicalities?
Why did the government not listen to Team Anna in joint committee?

Its about balance of power between 2.

imagine 2 ppl sitting in a room one with a gun and another with nothing.. in no time person without gun has to submit himself to the person with gun. To balance this out we have to give a gun to other person also so that his life is not at the mercy of the person with gun.

This is the root cause of corruption, excess power with govt and also excess regulation and most important no service level agreement for govt employees.. they can take infinite amount of time..... i agree in case of passport there is sla... but not all......

Have you read both drafts, or are you debating the fact that there should be a Lokpal in the first place?

They have little time for public... Let'steach them a lesson..
by Narendra Negi on Aug 22, 2011 04:56 PM

Most of the Committee members are there just to satisfy their personal interests. Even, they hate the idea of being a part of general public. They treat themselves as modern day Raja. People are fed up with ROTTEN SYSTEM, they can't adjust themselves in that system any more. Enough is Enough. People want change... a systematic Change... towards total freedom. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!

This article seems written by a Government representative
by BharatiyaAgni on Aug 22, 2011 04:51 PM

The article does not provide a balanced view of the topic.

This bill has been debated by parliament for 42 years. 8 standing committees have gone into various aspects of the bill. What 'new' insight will this latest standing committee find? Isn't 42 years enough time for our politicians to 'make up their minds'?

Rediff, please clarify - what is your official opinion on the matter?
