people power unnerved the looting Co.
by Purine on Apr 12, 2011 02:58 AM

the jail bharao call of Anna ji and the subsequent increase in people's support did unnerve the Govt. The govt was not at all relenting before this. Sonia's interference maybe a drama, just to fool the people again. She didn't write, direct the govt of talk about corruption when large scale corruption was happening in her govt for the last 2-3 years. don't give her a chance to get away from responsibility

Population control awareness
by Indian Guy on Apr 12, 2011 02:01 AM

India and China account to 40% of world population, imagine how cramped we are in this country. If measures are not taken there will be struggle for everything in the future. Please limit to one kid per family. What is the point in having a billion people that is not worth producing a quality soccer team that can at least qualify for WC, let alone winning it. 1/10th of the whole Uttar Pradesh population lives in Australia with double the land space of India. Please free up the world to have better quality life by limiting to just one kid per family. If 1 man and 1 woman produce only one kid for next generation, the population wil become half after 80 years. There will be no difference between human beings and cockroaches if we keep on multiplying without any family planning

CAN WE END CORRUPTION
by Sundararaman knagarajan on Apr 12, 2011 01:00 AM  | Hide replies

Formuing the committee and bringing in Lokpal are not the solution for ending corruption.

Basics are to be looked into. Let the Government remove several controls it has.
Let the Government create a level playing field for all.

Identify the sensitive departments where common man is affected by day to day corruption.
Take the case of RTO's. Driving licence - people pay a huge sum to get the driving licence. Why?

We talk about corruption in Government. What about private institutions - running schools and colleges? They squeeze all the people by their exhorbitant fees and donations. What steps are going to be taken for these ills?

Getting gas connection, milk card, pass port, birth and death certificates, sales tax assessment order, IT assessment order - wherever you go you need to pay. Bribery in Police department? How are we going to get these issues resolved?

Common man is more agitated by his day to day difficulties than 2g spectrum fraud.

Whether LOK PAL will get solutions for these?

Sundar

Yes, Jan Lokpal has that option in future when you complain to Jan Lokpal about not receiving proper service from the particular department. Then he would summon the concerned officer and ask him to ensure you receive the service within 30 days failing which Rs 250/- per day would be deducted from the concerned officers salary and the cumulative amount of the number of days the service was delayed beyond 30 days would be awarded to you as compensation. Please Jan Lokpal Bill on internet for further clarifications.

by pradeep ja on Apr 12, 2011 12:02 AM

I really salute the initiation taken by Anna , he is the one who initiated that enough is enough in corruption the lokpal bill must be passed but he point here i want to add is this bill must not give much trouble to the people who are non corrupt by the corrupt people who might misuse the law by raising the false allegation when any one point out that he is corrupt there must be a proper justification where innocent are not made the turbines to blow the air.........th law must be implemented without any kind of parties instead it should be patriotism

foolish comment by Anna Hazare or intentional?
by Kungfu Panda on Apr 11, 2011 08:42 PM  | Hide replies

anna hazare is sharing the dias with sadhus and sants. He is praising Narendra Modi. I seriously doubt Anna Hazare's secular credentials. If he claims to be a Gandhian, he should understand that Gandhi was not communal.

Many so called secularists like the Yadav brothers, Mayawati, karunanidhi, and others are corrupt and criminal in their ways - but see how they occupy central political space. Why should sharing the dais with sadhus and saints be non-secular and why should non-secular be all bad? Is there anyone entirely "secular"?

And anyway, what has secularism to do with battling corruption?

Please do not club YAdav, Mayawati with Karunanidhi. He is a downright anti-hindu, anti-brahman anti-hindi and anti-sanskrit fellow.

one sin does not justify another you fool. Manmohan apologised to the sikhs for what congress did in the past. Till now did Modi apologise for the horrors he and his administration did in Gujarat? Everyone knows that BJP and Modi and anyone who supports them are communal to the core
