Why this BAN ?
by Aditya Venkat on Apr 08, 2011 02:44 PM  | Hide replies

So if it is proved the Gandhi was gay or bisexual, will it change the fact that he was still a great soul. What has someones personal life and sexual orientation got to do with his achievements.. Sad that Indians are still so petty that they cant think beyond their narrow cultural biases. Whether Gandhi was bisexual or not is irrelevant. Those who wish to read this book should be allowed to, and move on. Since our politicians and illiterate voters dont have an aim to their existance, they tend to cause such nuisance.

There is no evidence that Gandhi was homosexual or bisexual. One should avoid such misrepresentation and falsehood unless there was evidence beyond reasonable doubt. Even if, it is assumed for sake of discussion that Gandhi was homosexual or bisexual, then inspite of that he accomplished more and was a better human being than any heteresexual Indian has morally achieved in the past 60 years.

Whats Fair is Fair !
by Jehan Mir on Apr 08, 2011 11:20 AM

In all fairness to Gandhiji who is not amongst us to defend himself, there is no evidence or inference which can drawn in the various statements made by author Joseph Lelyveld in his book that Gandhiji was either bisexual or homosexual.

The fact Gandhi was incensed with his ever nagging, overbearing wife and he found any sexual relationship with such an annoying person to be disagreeable and he shared few jokes with his buddy architect in no way can possibly be misconscrued as him being bisexual or homosexual. Had he been a bisexual, there would have been other corroborating evidence in his life before leaving and after arriving back in India and there is no such evidence.

Rest in Peace, Gandhiji.

i think the gandhi was self determined on its ability & confidence he knew by whom we are bounded, and therefore he went on to seek for the truth,as the netaji wanted to restrict our freedom of choice of the social rights of humanity form the british raj fighting them against unjust laws and as the same the gandhi to have fighting throughout non violence but there was a contrdict in between the netaji and the gandhi for the process to procure the freedomity, however all the time gandhie's views might not be exercised because when we have become beast even our behaviour going off extrem point, to have mean above the to have mean above the , then there , then there could be a need of strong prima face administration to save them from Wreck , however on case to case it will be dependable which one to be suitable to control the situation

This fellow Lelyveld want to make millions by commenting about Gandhiji in a subtle undecurrent manner so thar he can escape with different interprationts to suit gossip mongers.
He should have printed the letters in original form allowing the readers to understand exactly what GANDHIJI meant. Anyway no PROBLEM...Gandhiji had crossed many such fires everytime to come out more and more pure and dharmic.
