But their anti-Market economy confusion prevents them for accepting even the American world-view which Prof Krugman represents, which infact would be genuinely empathic to their world-view and would enable rapid expansion of blue collar formalization a critical need for rural labour emancipation and thereby facilitate agrararian transformation.

Mr. Satish kulkarni, what kind of change are you expecting from the Congis? The half-baked Rahu1, the great Maratha SharadPawar, the great CWC Scamster, SureshKalmadi, etc are the real facts of Indian Politicians!!
And you should know what happened when the Congis used BalThakeray to break the Trade Unions lead by the Communist Parties (SripadAmritDange) and later he was also "purchased" by the Congis. That brought an end to the TextileIndustry in Mumbai as the substitute propped up by them (the late Dr.DattaSamant) could not sustain the strike initiated by him in the absense of support from any organized political party. Datt Samant was no healthy solution to the cause of Union movement, as his union was a virulent one. But those days Leftist unions, were still in yeh azadi jhoota phase, and hoping to deploy mazdoor unions to usher a red revolution, abolish Parliament and install Politbureau. We had to wait until Late Jyoti Basu saluted Tiranga for these real fears to subside.
But the embers of red revolution which would abolish Parliamentary democracy burns still in the hearts of many Communists, more so in the breakaway Maoists (PWG and CPI-ML).
Looks like Mr Karat is referring to those tendencies as 1940s vision and has signalled acceptance of market economy but distinguishes himself from neo-liberalism of MMS which made common cause with tehn Bush led American Right.
It is difficult to read the tea leaves, but we can be rest assured that Mr Karat has the intellectual integrity and the brilliance to be given due honours by one of the best Universities in the world.
Shepeherding the vast and complex assemblage of Indian left is no easy task, and moderating it almost impossible. To prove equal to the entrusted responsibility needs super human effort and wish he succeeds to make the ideology totally amenable to market economy, which is what has probably been hinted by him.

Presently union centric leaders in all parties support PSUs and govt control, and oppose privatisation as well as oppose fast forward expansion of private sector.
BJP and INC, both of which also have deep roots in labour movement, and pro-business ethos may find it easier to invest more efforts to enable strong labour leaders to emerge as long term power brokers within their politcal processes.
However, the world views of both these formations specially in the context of electoral arithmetic, where real political brokering process takes place, is beset with caste calculations.
Unless Indian industrialists and monied interests themselves take an enlighted view to institute labour reforms to facilitate healthy professionalisation of labour, to create supply base of adequate quality level for their long term needs, things may not move forward.
Sad indeed, that instead of a competitive and fighting labour movement, relying on benevolence of the monied interest seems to be the only realistic option. This kind of cantilever model of growth may have served S Korea, but not really suitable for the mega-scale needs of Indian manufacturing and service sectors.
But since Indian left shy away from even opening up to, let alone making common cause with their US counterparts, making do with the constricted means may perhaps be the only remaining feasible option. Unorganised labour shall continue to suffer for a very long time.

Caste is a phoney cell, but their rejectionist view of religion is no real answer to caste.
Economic deprivation is very real, but demonisation of value creators is no answer to economic emancipation.

If Modi like leader will come for Bengal , Bengal will save form destroying state to golden state as before.

Being a Bengali you have fairly well depicted the reality of Bengal caused by the policy wreck within the Communist movement and their three-way split (CPI, CPM, Maoists).
But Modi may not be a real long term solution. Modi it seems has come down on labour unions with a heavy hand in the name of industrial discipline. He is more fiat oriented, than being legal process oriented. This ruthless approach becomes very dangerous after opposition has been totally undermined, which he has already proceed to do so within his party.
Jyoti Basu has safeguarded defence of India in a manner which has not been articulated by our media yet. The articulation can only come when the rest of his flock can fully appreciate and accede to his world view of the future of Indian Left en-route to attain centrality within Parliamentary plurality.
This refusal for second-tiering of Politbureau, by Prakash Karat and others, which Jyoti Basu had called historical blunder, is now going a re-think. It seems Mr Karat himself had a change of heart and probably he reflects the isntitutional opinion of the party.
Wish, had access to his original speech, but anyway Indian reporting over time is likely to make assessment.

In 1947 West Bengal was the most industrialised state. The the revolutionary fervour made the place a policy wrecked, and Centre contributed no less with its freight equalisation policy which was finally corrected by NDA.
The real concern is that healthy evolution of Left is being undermined by misguided politics of UPA and NDA combine who would like no credible third alternative to flower, even if they like to do so in a wholesome manner.
Since the Indian press is becoming lot more vigilant and objective than before, thanks to influx of young talent, Indian Left may probably receive more of disinterested scrutiny which shall contibute towards Left being an enabler of responsible and healther labour movement directed not towards any revolution but pragmatic steps to reduce excessive exploitation and improve the quality of life of Indian labour.

Disinterested scruitny presently would be heavily weighted against India Left.
To get fair treatment Left have to establish unambiguously that they do abide by premises of Market economy. Until then, Indian press, an institution sustained by market economy has all the valid reasons to undermine Left in all manners feasible else would be acting foolishly to invite future curbs to their own freedom.

Bengal was among the first three top states in 50,60s &70s in termes of GDP,income and other indexes..bengal was agolden state......after communist came in bengali.e 1977 nder jyoti basu.....bengalwent to dogs......because he fooled bengalis in the name of secularism...

While being an exponent of British Raj heritage in one of the quintessential British institution, to make nation specific charges while Britian is perhaps closest to the nation is funny if only it had no tragic consequences to Indian security.
We can only request for due deliberation with the hope that Indian Left shall not be deprived of mainstream intellectual thoughts by red rags.
