In every state there are good and bad people. So is Kerala. Just because of one or two example, we cannot brand an entire state as a collection of bad people.
Sometimes, we may make judgment too soon without even considering facts.
I have seen this kind of statements made about different people in different parts of the country. For example, some south indians believe that north indian people are crooked and cruel. Some people say that people belong to Bihar are to be kept away. Some others say that Bengalis are troublesome. In states like Andhra such statements are made between casts (etc. reddys Vs chaudhuris Vs kamma). In Tamil Nadu, UP, and HP, sometimes all people belong to certain casts are accused of doing nonsense. Many times we can hear bad stuff about Marathis too. Such stereotypical news is mainly due to one or two bad men belong to those respective communities.
All these statements about one type of people by another type of people are just misleading, wrong, and based on misunderstanding. Actually, it is a fact that the wrongdoings of one individual can cast bad light on an entire population, state, or even a country. Can we think everybody in Gujarat a Gandhi (the good side of him)?
So, let us not brand large populations based on the behavior of one or two of them.

What the Hell do you know about mallus. 4 U ignorance is bliss. Mallus are CHANAKYAS. For that matter they don't rule.... but they will decide who will rule. Refer to the pages of Indian history to know Chanakya.... After refering don't come out with the innovation that he is from north India.

MALAYALAM is the same whether it is spelt from the front ot from the back.So you will never know whther a mallu is moving forward or backward.

A great thinker is identified from the quality, impact, and transformative nature of his/her work on the real world. It is perceived that his/her thinking resulted in such big impact on our world! Impact is a relative and subjective word. However, when more people appreciate their work as good, that gets raised in the ladder of respect. Many ordinary Indians are real great thinkers.
Nobel Prize is awarded in five areas only (Chemistry,Literature,Medicine,Physics,Peace. Economics is not one of these. The Prize for Econmics has been instituted by bank of Sweden on its ter centenary in memory of Nobel Can the Prize rank with Nobe and the recipient termed a Nobel Laureate?

I hate such regionalistic ch_u_t,ias who always wanted to get back to 532 princely states...
This guy was hell bent on liberalisation at a very fast pace including merger of banks to create large banks which could compete on the global front. He now is ok with small sized banks after the western fiasco. He had been at loggerheads with Dr.Y.V.Reddy. What is great about his vision and thinking and why is he included?
It is good to read....still survey of western world must have some purpose !
It wants to project things the way it wants,and the way it thinks right,so take it with a pinch of salt..it is never possible to zero in to 100 personalities from billions of populations of different nooks and corners of the world....even a small island in Pacific can have 10 best thinkers who really think for the humanity and the universe...
I recently read about 35 youths who will change India in the coming years in India Today magazine..I knew one of them who had cheated me of Rs.10,000 personally,and several other friends also had similar complaint about him of getting duped..so these surveys are only relative truths...
