Lesson to learn
by bharat on Nov 27, 2010 05:47 PM

So called (non)secular Parties and media run by anti national elements, and appeasement politics by kangress cast politics by (bandits)Lallo Robery devi and Paswans are ended in Bihar. People of Bihar became like soviet union
once they started seing freedom communism collapsed in soviet union and old commi countries. Nitish and Modi proved in Bihar
LalloPaswans creating fear with communities doesnt work again in there. congress's appeasing minorities and dividing people doesnt work in bihar again.
Communists dreams never work again.

Even after 60 years it is shame to see undeveloped states are more than developed india just because of Policies of Congress and all lallo paswans in power so long to steal the peoples money.People need devoplopment; development brings jobs, enough food, good roads etc.
NDA would provide that people now realising it.
Creating fear in communities did not worked in Bihar just becoase of that.

Common School System must be the priority
by kinggurudev on Nov 27, 2010 11:18 AM

What Nitish does in the first 60 days for common school system will determine the fate of his victory? Even Rajiv Gandhi had land slide victory in 1984, was it of any purposeful value for the citizens?

follow right development philosophy to leap frog in power sector
by Ramesh on Nov 27, 2010 12:44 AM  | Hide replies

Its per capita energy consumption, at 75 kWh (kilowatt per hour), is the lowest in India and far below the national average of 613 kWh.
---------------

In a recent interview along with GE CEO Mr Immelt, Mr Mukesh Ambani ahd suggested that India instead of imitating US route to development, could leverage the benefit of hindsight to leapfrog in developing uptodate infrastructure. The example he cited was power sector, wherein the stunning advances in Wind power and Solar technologies over last 5-6 years have opened up opportunities which need power grids for distributed generation.

Instead of traditional distrust for capital formation in private sector, both domestic and multi-national, the socialist Lohiaties have exhibited in past, if efforts are made to provide corruption free access to investments in Bihar, then rapid development of a new kind, built on the foundation of bueraucratic driven success of the previous Bihari administration can be achieved.

Professional capital, both domestic and multi-national, are normally compliant to law, so can work better only in an above board fashion. The influx of talent and quality thought which Bihar needs for its rapid catch-up mode can not come from any state sector investment.

Scope exists for a non-directive facilitating mode of administration where the talents of private investment mode are left to themselves to find avenues for investment and development. Such 360 degrees vision is likely to bring in unprecedented qualitative changes to the lives of people in Bihar springing from the moorings of deep histories besides natural resources available in the state. Such organic development mode, with emphasis on green tech, is what needs to be pioneered as an alternative to the Gujarat model.

The intellectual politicians who are behind the success story of Bihar win undoutedly have the class for deep deliberations on the complex multi faceted issues of development.

So far, MMS govt, like earlier ABV govt, has only provided cooperative Centre to the development efforts of the State. The moves made by the new govt is likely to be closely watched and may set example for not only other states in India, but many nations as well.

Is it a victory of --complete socialism-- as has been observed by Sharad Yadav
------

What exactly Mr Yadav meant by the aforesaid statement is not clear. In earlier years, socialism was used as a device by leftists to stay clear of Hindu-Muslim animosity, specially in riot prone areas, to forge social unity amongst the people and maintain societal stability. It is such cultural and administrative dimensions and not the economic agenda which assumed primacy. Socialism for these leaders seeking realistic solutions to Indian advancement served useful purpose to hold the social fabric of the nation.

On economic policy matter, hopefully there would be continuation of such realistic solution seeking approaches to formulate policies for development which step beyond the traditional mould.

In modern parlance socialism and market economy are not inconsistent unless it is the defunct USSR model the socialists desire to propagate.

If that is really so, then hopefully BJP, a distinctly pro-business party shall be able to pull weight for course correction, and it that is not feasible muster courage to let this experiment collapse before it is too late for Bihar.

Socialists are mostly well read in vernacular literature and in European literatures. Unlike Communists who interpret issues in their narrow Marxian and other communistic framework, Socialists tend to be more broadminded, and never ideological bhudbak. It is quite likely that a sense of experiment and innovative spirit for realistic problem solving shall hold sway to construct the road ahead. Socialist do tend to be bit romantic with an idealistic tinge, but this atleast keeps them away from crass corruption to which conservatives are often vulnerable.

Whether this fragile coalition shall continue in its salad bowl mixing ways or become close knit enough to launch NDA-II at the Centre only future can bear out.

BIHARIS FEARED RETURN OF LALU-RABRI MOST
by damodaran mohan on Nov 25, 2010 05:00 PM

Although Nitish's led NDA govt's win was expected but scale of victory is simply staggering. The large turn out of women voters did give some inkling that it was going to be a decisive win for the changed 'secure' environment. Perhaps voters have spoken loudly not to allow the 15 yrs of jungle Raj of Lalu-Rabri to return when the only industry that thrived was that of extortion and fear. To that extent both Nitish kr.and Sushil Modi deserve all kudos for having won over the confidence of the people. But it is a long drawn out process because the actual work of building Bihar is to start now and is not going to be easy given that the JD(U)-BJP equation is not all that hunky dory. The smooth functioning of the govt. will depend to what extent the central leadership of BJP restraints itself from interfering and gives free hand to Sushil Modi in dealing with Nitish Kumar on a one to one term independently. The moment Gadkari&co. starts meddling with state affairs it is going to be curtains for the NDA alliance.

So also that of Shri Rahul Gandhi
by Vivek Dev on Nov 25, 2010 03:33 PM

Rahul Gandhi should move to bigger things, and issues at the national and global level instead of regional politics. Like his illustrious great-granddad Rahul should launch global initiatives like like Non-Aligned Movement to lead the fight of smaller nations and economies against the predatory tendencies of global powers like US, Russia and ohers.
