"There is a dedicated Hero for every corrupt politician." ~ Abe Lincoln.
The New generation should be posted at least for 2-3 years in army camps to understand the facts at border instead of wasting time in chatting and datings. I salute u sir, I have met you once in Mohali during a function.

ya...I agree with. This is being followed in many countries. This helps in inflicting strong patriotism among us.
Its sad that we dont get to read, our youngs and children dont read all this in their books or in regular newspaper, we still see scores of filth in media today while we dont even know the real heroes who have broken all parameters of courage and committment for nation. We even today dont salute Sikhs who have made national service their life while politicians from a few states to behave shamelesly and some untankful who killed many in riots. but it's the selected Sikhs I'm talking about who have done really, I salute them.

lalu is already fighting to pocket excess tax money ..to prevent it from corrupting indian society..you know..money corrupts
Maj Kuldip Singh was the 'A' company commander and not the commander of the Regiment.23 Punjab refers to the 23rd battalion of the Punjab Regiment .The numbering is not done serially or sequentially.A battalion has 4 rifle companies,a Headquarter company and a battalion headquarters. It appears that Gaurav Negi has got the facts abit incorrectly.Maj Kuldip was defending a company locality. The Pak formation comprising a regiment plus a squadron of armour and two infantry battalions was assaulting the battalion defended area of 23 Punjab.A conventional company defended locality has a frontage of not more than 700 metres. A suadron of armour (45 tanks) with two troops up wuld cover a frontage of more than two company defended localities.

It means that Gaurav Negi has not understood how the battle was fought.Mr Khalnayak also has no idea of what defending or attacking mean.Usually the attacker employs a force level of 1:3.Maj Kuldip's locality was attacked with a battalion level force supported by armour. He beat back the attacking forces several times that the Pakis had to send reinforcements and the battle proved to be the graveyard of US built Patton tanks. The points I made were-1.Maj Kuldip was the Company Commander and not the Commander of 23 punjab.2.The assault launched against the company wasbeaten back so that several waves of assaults had to be launched and yet they could not overrun the locality. Khalnayak is justified in asking what it proves because I went at a tangent. To beat back several waves of attacks by a company forcing an attacker to employ a force of two battalions and a squadron plus of armour is indeed a great act of courage and valour. It was a team effort and Maj Kuldip led from the front. In the annals of military history this battle will always written in golden letters.
Who says GOD doesn't exist? Truly a remarkable personality...deserves a bigger honour from the ppl of India...probably the BHARAT RATNA...THANKS SIR FOR WHAT YOU DID FOR THE COUNTRY!!

for what Indira Gandhi (and the congress) did to the Sikhs, it was right for them to ask for a separate country...

why have you not signed up.No one joins the Armed Forces out of patriotism or for honour. In olden days the royalty used to join the forces for the honour and pride in donning the uniform. One must realise that human beings cannot survive on sense of pride ,honour or patriotism. All the same there are a large number of men and women who join for the honour and pride.Yes a large number join it as officers because it is a good career option.Unemployment is so much in this country that crowd control measures are needed when recruitment rallies are organised. When you have to attract young men and women to the Forces you need to give them adequate compensation.

There are a lot who give up better earning jobs to get into the Army. As far as leaving or joining is concerned, I suppose those who have not experienced do not even have the right to comment on it.
