Amusing......
by Globalcrusador on Nov 21, 2010 09:29 AM  | Hide replies

It is amusing to read the stance of some CMs when caught in land grabbing sprees. Their common refrain is "well my predecessor did the same, and he was not caught. So, why am I caught and sought to be punished ?" Aren't our CMs well learned to realize that 2 wrongs in a row do not make a single right and if the previous CM got away with misdemeanour, it
guarantees no constitutional right to continue with the national plunder...

No point in berating ourselves...on corruption
by Globalcrusador on Nov 21, 2010 09:20 AM  | Hide replies

It is sad most comments on this site keep falling into a feeling of helplessness when talking about corruption. I think we need to focus on how to eliminate corruption rather than berate ourselves that India is a corrupt country. To make a real dent on corruption,
there must be a national debate on the same but with a clear focus on how to eliminate or lessen this scourge. I for one would suggest that we identfy the biggest areas of corrupt- ion and work systematically towards elimina- ting corruption in these areas, say over a 2-3 year duration, to make a real dent. There is no point in simply chest beating over the issue. We need t move further and identify practical steps to stem the rot.

No debate will help. People must be sent to prison for being corrupt. Otherwise, as a nation we will make no dent on corruption.

Yes & no. The truth is, out of 10 corrupt people, only 1 gets caught. We must go all out against corruption and for this to work, we will need the right strategy or learn from the experience of Singapore.
Without a proper strategy, we all will continue to flounder.

Coruption is part of our society. It cannot be stopped. Neither the ruling nor opposition parties are interested in this.

The opposition needs news so that they can drag the ruling party. But once they are in power they loot 100%. No matter what party you select.

So why not make it legal so that at least you can restrict it?

Netas are not interested in this. If they make it legal then they will be in trouble.

Shall we legalise corruption by encouraging Prostitution from their family members over Corruption for additional income and perks?. Already we legalised criminals, religious mongers, factionists and rowdys and absorbed into politics, police and judiciary. Did that change the situation?.

Teachings of right conduct and Morality through religions have miserably failed in moulding bureaucrats, politicians and all public and government servants to stick to ethos. In fact, our religous leaders are more corrupt and what they preach is ofcourse lies and hatred.

It is better, we encourage politicians, police, judiciary people and all government and public servants family to take up prostitution as additional source of income.

Husbands of political class, police, judiciary and bureaucratic class can make only monthly salary. While wives and daugthers of political class, police, judiciary and bureaucratic class can make additional money and also satisfaction sitting home as additional
benefits.

Anyway Prostitution is legal while corruption is illegal on paper but in reality it sucks the society...

Harassment for corruption by killing time and patience is the tool with which corruption is entertained. Awarness among all citizens will not be uniform and very worst in india due to illiteracy and socio-economic inequalities.

1. Why does one need to go through several bureaucratic process to know the public
information using RTI?. Why can't it be directly automated rather than getting killed?.

2. Say, you want to do registartion of property or vehicles. You go to registrar office or RTI, you will be forced to meet a particular person. Formalities of filling application and challans will be done. They will ask you to wait indefinitely saying his boss who has to put a stamp or sign is not at desk. He will never be latently present till you pay him.

If you wait for some time, they will put off to next day or give nonsense reasons. You will have to invest additional resources like time and money to escalate that issue before it is resolved without bribing.

3. You go to RTI for international driving license for the first time. He will ask you
when is your flight as if he would like get your work done before your flight. He will ask
you to come exactly couple of hours before your flight. As it is first time, you will trust and accept. On your flying day, he will give hell lot of reasons saying boss is busy in some work and will exploit your urgency to make you cough some bucks.

What family or ethics will do , if the loopholes are created in system for bribe

Corruption? Corruption is government intrusion into market efficiencies in the form of regulations. That's Milton Friedman. He got a goddamn Nobel Prize. We have laws against it precisely so we can get away with it. Corruption is our protection. Corruption keeps us safe and warm. Corruption is why you and I are prancing around in here instead of fighting over scraps of meat out in the streets. Corruption is why we win.

All 10 suggestions are easier said than done!

The writer, like everyone else who has his or her two bits about eradicating corruption in India, is dwelling on the symptoms.

Wasting resources treating the symptoms is going to achieve nothing!

Deal with the root cause which is the reason why all these useless policies were put in place!

Those reasons are (1) The b a n i y a mentality - everybody gets emotional when it comes to helping the country but the moment there is any monetary gain to be made, all those emotions go out of the window first.
(2) Nehru party - It doesn't seem to be a coincidence anymore that this party shares its name's first letter with a deadly and horrific disease. If India has to really progress this party needs to be dumped first. Capital punishment is still around for a reason, it puts the fear of death in 99.99% of the people who contemplate taking someone's life. If you kick out and punish this collection of lowlifes and replace it with progressive, honest people who understand the simple fact that s c r e w i n g the m o t h e r land is ultimately s c r e w i n g your own m o t h e r!

Finally once we realize, as the people who fought for India's independence realized, we are nothing without our country, we will truly become a great nation!!

Free Suggestion
Re: Encourage Prostitution Over Corruption

Not a bad idea to try.

1. Give 50% reservation to wifes and daugthers of working politicians, police, jurists and all gov servants for prostitution with no monthly salary. May be they will make more income than corruption but legally and citizens will atleast feel happy for getting additional service for shelling their money which is good for health.

2. All public and Gov Buildings should have a notice board "Paid and Legal Prostitution and No Corruption" as additional source of income.

3. Government should not tax the income made by wifes of bureaucrats, police and judges under legal prostitution.
