pl read the speech again. Do not jump into conclusions. What i could see leaving the past what ever it may on both sides, the future of indians is in the hands of future generation & 21 st century belongs to india & america is prepared to stand shoulder to shoulder. Is this not a big acceptance in favour of india when the same Americans have treated as poor country & we had to bow them & we have to go t o them with begging bowls. They also desperately want our partnership & they also prepared to build future india. It is a win win situation. Let us try to do some thing for our children before we go. Let us be positive.

India achieved nothing from the visit of Obama
by vijaya kumar on Nov 08, 2010 07:06 PM

India getting a Security Council membership? Lmao what a joke by America. Now lets be realistic. Why are we not thinking that China will veto it? and more over Obama CAN NOT do anything. CIA determines everything for usa about strategy of world affairs. and are we living in dream world? will Pakistan let us join Security council? No never, ISI and CIA are like wicked brothers. Pakistan would tell USA off that if you did that then you know what is goig to happen. We should stop living in la la la land guys. Obama came, He made us fool, signed the trade pact and went. What we gained after all that hosting? not even peanuts. Why can't we act like China or even Iran? shame on our politicians.

WHO IS OBAMA?
by wasym ahmed on Nov 08, 2010 07:04 PM  | Hide replies

It is very sad to see that the indian media has made the visit of USA president Barack obama a grand carnival.Every news channel and the print media are projecting his visit as if he is the ruler of India. It is a shame that india is seeking answer from Obama regarding the 26/11 attack rather than attacking pakistan. The ministers are so happy coz Obama has critised the attack. It looks like that they just wanted Obama to critise the attack as if he is their master. India is a better nation than USA but due to some unwanted interest india is unable to achieve its goal. We are more concerned about hindus and muslims rather than the nation. we are happy pin pointing and accusing at each other.america is the new british raj. wake up guys.........

Obama
by karam sharma on Nov 08, 2010 07:03 PM

Not for nothing Obama has become a president of a country where whites are in majority. That he was brought up by white grandparents might have been a factor for his acceptability but ultimately it is brilliance of this man who has become the first nonwhite man to lead USA. Although he has modified himself quite a bit from his pre-election stance and lost political elections recently he continues to be symbol hope for all young people of thsi world. That younger people can bring more optimism and change should be understood by Indian politicians also. At the fag end of your life you may not be willing to bring a radical change and few years of experience may make a man more mature rather than the decades.

Why don't you quit your job, profession or whatever and join politics and become an MP and make a new beginning, so that rest of Indians will not have a chance to criticise their fellow countrymen or politicians whenever a native English speaker comes to India and gives a speech?

even if 10-15 young MPs understand and even if 1 Obama emerges out of them, that will be enough to bring a change..remember Obama is just one and unique..

The government of India did not bow under pressure and made clear to Obama, America is good only for people-people and trade links. Not a single new military/defence deal is signed.

Dear Mr. Wasym. You said it right. The hype was totally uncalled for. Media is responsible for it since for most of them USA is a secrete Pay master. Looking at the paraphalia he brouhgt along, I wonder if such persons can really be called leaders and public representatives. At least some Nationalist Media should publish the Media coverage in USA as well as in India for the visit of our PM to USA and Obama to India. It is a real barometer to gauge where India stands relative to USA in the minds of Americans.
Regards
AKC
