Why can't she spend that money on building primary schools, charitable hospitals, orphanges etc and name them after herself and other so-called social reformers. If those people were really social reformers, they would have preferred this approcah instead of statues. Those statues won't do any good to society.

Commonwealth games is biggest waste of money, many time the amount Mayawati will spend on statues.Bofors scandal was big waste of money. Telecom scam Rs60,000 crore big waste of money, Fertiliser scam big waste of money, NAM big waste of money, 'oil for food scam' big waste of money, Sukna land scam big waste of money. Only when Dalits spend government money of statues, memorials it is big waste of money for forward castes.

And Taj Corridor Scam- where govt(Mayawati) actually GOT money. In fact, the UP govt(Mayawati) made off with quite a few crores by the time the 'project' was finally stopped. As they say, people deserve the govt they have- wasting scarce taxpayers monies on building statues glorying her ego, instead of on schools, clinics, housing, roads, sanitation, water, electricity etc is so much better for the socio-economic upliftment of OBCs and Dalits.

hotz, just because mulayam was no good, does it makes maya better?? and does it really justifies what she is doing??? she just last month claimed that she doesnt have money to pay to the kins of ppl who died in stampade, and asked central govt to pay for it, cant she give this money to them??? by which sense installing these statues are doing any good to the state????

My request to hounarable prime minster to remove the subsidy on gas and petroleum products completely so that the food prices wiil be double and India will achiceve higher growth rate.
India has a population of 1,148,000,000 with the GDP at $2.55 trillion and its national debt is 78% of its GDP. It is next to the danger mark as per this picture and we have Mayawathi who is spending extravagantly constructing memorabilia. Rs 1500 crores can be used for people friendly initiatives. Its time we Indians stand up united and raise our voice against such politicians. Its never late than ever.
