I thought only shashi did not know english(inspite of being a stephanion) but his supporter Mathew also does not know the language .
To be a good foreign minister you need to a mature person with understanding of the country's interest.Impressive 'curriculam-vitae'may be good for U.N. but not in a diverse country like us.
I have come across many 'Bhojpuri'speaking rustic Biharis who are more mature and with and wise and possibly can make better foreign minister because they are rooted in the soil.

"Talibanisation of Hinduism"??? what are you talking about Mr.Mathew ?? Do you know the difference between some one who respond to the continued persecution for 1000 years (and still under so called "secular" govt.) and those who kill for no reason??

Has this so called "Hindu Taliban" ever killed any one "just for fun" as it is done by Mr.Patil's (our former home minister) misguided secular brothers (i.e. real Talibans!).

Bene Israeli Jews & Syrian Christians lived here for 2000 years, Parsis (who have to run away from their home land due to secular brothers i.e. Talibans of 7th century) for 1300 years. Has any one ever even touched them or their religious places?? They all lived in peace and harmony with Indians and in the process they themselves become Indians.

Has this guy ever asked why Hindus responded on couple of occasion to Talibans of 21st century in Taliban's own language?? Go and learn the real history Mr.Mathew, then talk about all this.

You are blaming Indian media for Tharoor's problem, but you don't know that you yourself is a part of this "frenzied tabloid media".

Whether its MFH or some other problem, its a fashionable in "frenzied tabloid media" to bash peace loving, tolerant, progressive native sons of this country at every occasion and you are no exception.

Now, Parsis had a great contributions to their adopted land way from Biginning- there was incidence adding SUGAR TO MILK- In question to King at SANJAN BANDER- Gujarat.

Same Goes for Jewes and Buddhist.

Now this said There is Great Influence of Indian Culture on INDONESIANS- You have to VISIT THEM TO FEEL IT.

Only People Don't like the cuture of INDIA are Indians Influenced by VIOLENT PHILOSOPHY- Both religious and No- religious Kind. Who has no Clue what Infecteed Their Brain and Heart.

The article by a fellow malayali in support of another foolish malayali for speaking out of turn .In tamil we call such persons as 'Adhigaprasanghi'In hindi it is called 'badbolapun'.
Ask him to keep his English to himself. I am surprised he is not sacked yet inspite of repeated blunders.
We have lot more mature people who can make better Foreign ministers.we do not need shashi the immature minister.
Given a chance he will handover Kashmir to Pakistan. He must go before it is too late

Whatever ppl say...I personally dont have any thing to do with wht he said and wht he didnt say, I just know one thing about him, He is the only MP out of some 500 about whom we know what is he doing everyday, his work and his meetings with foreign coounterparts...and thts his job and we get to know what he is doing everyday...There is no other MP, forget abt MP there is no MLA or local corporate whose day to day work we know, give me one such example where ppl know what an MP from their local constituency is doing everyday...This person has brought democracy to normal ppl like me and u by giving regular updates on his work...no other politician I literally mean no other politician has ever been able to do this...and thts why I think he should be there as an MP and should continue twitting, so tht we general public know atleast what our 1 MP out of 500 MPs is doing...

Hmm pardon me, Tharoor is a Minister of State for External Affairs. He represents an institution of our government and not "just another MP". There are ceertain aspects of the goverments functioning that need to synchronised or are confidential and which need to be revealed by proper channels. Unless twitter can be considered proper official channels for information broadcasting.

We definitely do not need a maverick external affairs minister who tweets first and then thinks later

Ok..then give me one example of an MP who is updating u wwith proper channel?..he might be thinking after tweeting...but he is not doing some confidential defense work which is very high security work...he is working on improving external affiars of India and which is not some party's confidential matter its the matter of Country, and we must all know wht kind of relation we have with the external countries...e.g. no bosy will believ me but Pakistan is more powerful than India when it comes external affairs and thts the very readon why they are going without any sanctions from International communities inspite of being responsible for so many terror activity..every time hillary clinton makes statemnt like, pak is safe home for terror..wht thy are doing for it nothing which proves tht there has to be something which is preventing them from acting against them...thts the very reason we need a responsible person on the external ministry who will be accountable and not another political manupulator and criminal..and whts wrong if he gives you updates..dont we need any accountability..do we have any other channel to knw it, does our MP even bother abt establishing such channls?

The Prime Minister, the foreign minister, minister of finance update the people through proper channels after proper discussion on what to say. I would rather have someone who talks responsibly than someone who shoots his mouth on issues of national importance

u r missing the whole point...u r talking abt speaking responsibly and i m speaking abt giving out continuous updates on who is doing what and if we knew proper channels communicating food inflation wudnt have been so high, everybody knws why they are so high, U r missing the whole point of accountability, sharing info is no matter of secracy and he is not some uneducated fool, he knw much better than us to wht to speak and when, there is a reason why he hold PHd, and why he worked in UN for 23 years, he is 53 years old and matuared enough to knw, he is just trying to connect with ppl like me and u who knws nothing abt wht goes in any ministry, talking abt proper channel, when was the last time u hear from finance dept? in every budget speach, abt rail, in every budget speach, form agriculture dept never, from ministry of home never? so my point is its better to have a an irresponsible channel (as per u) than know channel at all...This is my last argument and if u still dont get my point...i rest myarguments...there is no point debating this issue

I agree completely that there should be transparency. However I also say that where there are issues that could affect foreign policy or statement that can be misused by opposing countries we need to maintain a modicum of restraint when discussing foreign policy issues. Imagine Raj Thakeray as our foreign minister. He would definitely keep everyone updated about what he thinks

Well, australia or india, people are same everywhere. People throughout the world hate parasites. They hate people who make their own place garbage dump, invade other places and then talk abt the greatness of their place. U get respect from others only if u have self respect.

interlocutor is someone who can advice or exercise some sort of control over another on a specific issue. Intermediary is a mediator ... both are extremely different.
