more than 85% of tamils boycotted the elections
Please check the facts
No tamils in Srilanka wanted to participate in the elections
Only 15% tamils have registered their votes
That too forcibly made to vote
All Tamil dominated areas Rajapakse lost miserably.
Fonseka lost in his birthplace badly

TAKE A LESSON
by Srijoy Palit on Jan 27, 2010 10:30 PM  | Hide replies

Rajpaksha has done the most appropriate thing to save his country from getting divided.Terrorists and separatists must be dealt with a iron hand. No Prime Minister after Mrs. Gandhi had the guts to deal strongly with terrorists. They are more concerned with Intertnational sentimenmts, human rights considerations etc. and are allowing the country to disintegrate.

It was a certain P V Narasimha Rao who cleaned up Punjab from terrorism, that has roots that can be traced back to Mrs. Gandhi's time.

If you raise a snake, it is certain that the snake will bite you one day. That is exactly what happened to Indira Gandhai/Rajiv for raising LTTE and US for creating Taliban.

DONT NEED PRABAKARAN
by Iadmire on Jan 27, 2010 10:04 PM  | Hide replies

Why do we need prabakaran anymore to support a tamilians... Inspite of open support to srilanka, congress and dmk won the election in tamilnadu... Tamil people have no unity amongst them... They are disunited by cast and creeds.... So let them also pay the price for not supporting the own kin's in srilanka...

As I had commented on other news, Rajpaska won. He had a support from the grass root level. Although forenska had support from urban people, it was just media hype. People think very differently than what media thinks that is why their predictions always fail. Politicians know people's psych and that why they aer what they are. You might have spent years in schools and colleges but they have spent years in understanding people, which no place can teach you.

because majority sinhalese want the minority tamils to be eliminated from the island, so they want a person who declares more and more wars and not a person who waits for others orders to fight...

Yeah we hate hindi because uneducated indians like you dont read the constitution and claim hindi the national language... read the constituion before you make false claims...We tamils wont allow hindi to become the national language of this country...till the last tamil we will fight against hindi... either all 30 languages should become national language or none...this is the rule...

Yes, I also like Hindi. That doesnt mean many in in Andhra and Karnataka like Hindi. It is not who likes what? It is about attitude of politicians which create regionalism. If you are a politician, then you are another jackal with sheep covering. If you an ordinary person like me, then we dont care about all these, whether a Tamilian or Maharashtrian or Punjabi. Everyone can live everywhere and can learn and talk in any language of convenience to the location. Dont bring your regional differences and make a nasty posting.

We already have plenty; only we need to elect them. Some names; LK Advani, Narendra Modi, Jayalalitha, Chandra Babu Naidu...unfortunately our political and electoral system doesn't have an environment for such leaders to get to the helm.
