It does not matter
by IMTIAZ KHAN on Dec 02, 2010 01:06 PM

Does not matter if 44% of the world is unaware of India seeking world leadership.

It takes two thirds majority of the UN General Assembly for a country to become a permanent member of the UNSC as and when the UNSC is restructured.

Hypothetically - It is doubtful whether any of the current 5 permanent members of the UNSC can muster that majority to get re-elected to the UNSC. If India were to seek that majority, it would not need to work as hard as the current members.

Thinking big is not our habit.

We have lived in slaver for thousands years. our mind has become weak and fearful. we do things only that are secure. its time to change. we dont have to be afraid of loosing our culture, since whole america and europe is adopting budhist and yogic practices. no need to live in fear. its time to adopt the world as family, vashudhaiv kutumb. once we start thinking big, how to serve global village, automatically we will provide leadership. So far US, europe, japan has been doing that. now china is doing it on grand scale. we should not be left behind. tighten our belt. we have strong reason to serve this global village. our relgion that is mother of almost all relegion. we should work hard. focus on serving world citizen. Global leadership will follow us automatically. Jai hind.

Yeah we have the lofty concept 'vashudhaiv kutumb' and adopt a holier than thou attitude. What about the way the vashudhaiv kutumb, treats a person because he is born in a different caste, does it treat him like he is part of the whole kutumb.
Oh well, this can also be blamed on others, (invasions, british etc). Why need to worry about these things when we have all the lofty concepts in theory, even if they are no implemented in practice.

Emperor Maurya, are you by any chance saying that the leadership of India does not have any nefarious shenanigans? If so, I am shocked.
It is known everwhere, that power equals political babas and that equals all sort of underhand dealings. (Not Just In India).

BTW, why should another nation accept India as leader, are we trying to do reverse colonialism here?

i think india should be given its unsc membership on 2030 or beyond other wise ,we as indians may laughter at the UN .now dont call me anti indian ,

with indian in the UN fold people may think its fro the betterment of the world ,but from what i see it its just cosolidation of power .
for the two terms of developed countries and underdeveloped countries ,we will be moving it the two worlds the first world and second world .
the first world being the permenant members of UNSC and their allies (thast for them to term who their allies are ) .
and the second world whis is the the rest of the world ....

Here We Go - Reality Check
by brahmarakshas on Dec 02, 2010 11:36 AM  | Hide replies

Right, after all the posturing by our politicians and many of the common people that India is a dominant force in world, permanent UN security council seat, India will be a superpower, blah blah etc, here comes the damper that most of the world does not know about our good old politician babas.

This is not unexpected, but a reality check to all our superpower dreamers.
