Why China is sexy and India interesting
by IMTIAZ KHAN on Aug 12, 2010 06:32 PM  | Hide replies

China is sexy because it is willing to spend its forex reserves to buy US treasury bonds and finance US deficit financing. China needs to do this to keep its own industry going.

India is interesting because India is a big market and its economic growth is fuelled by internal consumption. India will not bail out the US government by buying its treasury bonds, because it does not need to.

China will no more be sexy once all its forex reserves are held only in US treasury bonds, because then China will not have any more money to bail out US deficit and in turn Chinese manufacturing industry would be in danger of grinding to a halt.

If China wants to avoid that scenario, it must promote more internal consumption and stop financing US government deficit.

The Americans have perfected the art of linguistic artistry but the bottom line is what is outlined above.

China is sexy because it is one of the largest economies of the world and hard to ignore. India is interesting is euphemism at best. India comes neither in the global power equation nor in the global economic perspective.

China's forex reserves are one of the instruments to control its currency and maintain its exports. But other than that, it has steadfastly improved and scaled up its infrastructure to invite FDIs. Whereas India's economy is highly reliant on services (read outsourcing). India needs US to fuel its service sector more than US needs India's services. The moment India's service sector reach an inflection point where it is no longer economically feasible for MNCs to continue, India's glory would start weaning away.

China has started establishing its soft power over the North-East Asian region and elsewhere, whereas India cannot even contain its fragile neighbors.

The bottom line is India would take years before it can become a credible threat to China or to any other nation for that matter - both economically and politically. Just by maintaining a breakneck growth does not ensure that the growth is sustainable and balanced.

China controled their population from 1980 and then after 10 yrs.ie. from 1990 their economic growth increased.but india still not successful to do so from era of Indra Gandhi.anather big problem is terror attack from pak.on that issue india failed to persue USA & world attention.Nuclear tests are not big achivements bcoz they always carried by every govt.as per time table need of defence.hence india will not overcome china.

Cannot Compare India with China

In india what ever you do good or bad is questioned
Not So in china
In India People Individually continue to do good and bad things and its on the society to put a break to it
Rather than govt involving in every aspect of life in china
Chinese govt can feed worms to its people and people wouldnot mind it as long as they are fed well in India if you give a north indian a south indian dish or vice versa he may not find it to be filling
India Has huge diversity and indipendecy as compared to obidient Army of China.

Has anybody ever heard that China wants mediation or pressure any outsider in its dealings with its neighbours? Where as our leaders will lick ass3s of others particularly US to put pressure on neighbours. Prestige has to be commanded not demanded.

Thanks to Pokran test
by ganapathi on Aug 12, 2010 12:30 PM  | Hide replies

The daring decision of Vajpayee lead NDA's decision to execute a nuclear test in Pokran without giving any clue to so called super power countries and it sattilite had prooved the world the potential of India.
They also firmly handled and ignored the economy sanction threats of other countries based on the test. We have clearly shown rest of world that India is a self sufficient country in terms of production and consumption.
This has left no otherway to rest of countries including US and China to maintain friendship voulentarily with us.
This is the biggest acheivement of NDA who sowed self confidence on every Indian that we can do better. And we went for Golden qudraple to improve infrastructure, Cell phone network revolution,Sarvasikas abiyan for improving litteracy and so on.
Now US and China or any other country just can't ignore India due to its technical knowledge based young population strength and consumer strength of 1 billion and also for its clarity and leadership on spiritual aspects.

1. Pokran test really brought Pak clearly into nuclear club which shocked the world much more than known Indian abilities.

2. Indian tests made the super powers breathe eastier regarding India's nuclear ability since it proved that our nuclear bombs were almost at par with deepavali bombs.

On the world stage China behaves like a legal husband/wife where as Indian politicians and foreign policy makers make India look like a mistress/paramour. Where from weight of a recognised partner will come? Only once in a while some news paper will publish a story that India going to be a superpower after 50 years or so.

What China wants,China can..

Please read it in positive spirit and try to learn something, criticising me for my straight forward post will not do any good .
1.Because Chinese are nationalistic.Their national pride is above personal wealth.
2.Chinese are not divided on the basis of so many castes and languages. They have unity.
3.They can dismantle terror infrastructure with iron hand.
4.They can develop their country at the speed of a bullet train.
5.When we Indians are shouting about slave labour in China, infact,we find that in industrial hubs like Guangdong province,Liaoning province, etc, the salaries are growing more than at the rate of 10-15% per year.
6.The average lowest level worker's salary is yuan 1500 per month(which is about rs 10,000) more than double of our worker.
7.China's urban population is 52% and which is continously growing with constant development of new cities.
8.China's Forex is 10 times that of India.
9.After the Kopenhegan summit, now China has closed down more than 30 steel plants,to cut down its steel production by 35 million ton per annum, which is 75% of India's total steel production. In 2009,China produced 556 million ton of steel(10 times that of India).
However due to expansion of bigger steel plant, this reduction of capacity will be easily filled up.
10.China's export is 10 times that of India
11.China has world class airports, beautiful 6 lane/4 lane expressways, hotels with world class hospitality every where.
12.Women is equally empowered as man

Yes you are right, whats important is good governance which benefits people at large the end result of government activities results in prosparity and wealth creation to all section of society like china.
But in India few people monopolised fudal system in democratic set-up to create wealth and distribute among themself. Like Commomwealth Games Infrastructure Development and Contracts gone to favouritism, nepotism practices of wealth sharing companies owned by bureaocrates, politicians, industrial houses etc....
Common man has to pay for all this and he will not enjoy neighter commonwealth games due to exbitant tickets nor he will enjoy infrastructure grabbed by Beurocrates and Politicians to organise marriage ceremonies for their desendents.

13.There is no crime against woman, they feel secured in their society and work environment.
14.The English speaking ability of the new generation is rapidly growing.
15.Chinese employees donot waste time on cricket, gossip, bollywood or politics..so they seem slaves to our lazy brothers.

China held olympic fantastically and impressed the whole world ,now they are going to host the Asian games. But our CWG is marred with corruption, what a shame.
Where there is a will, there is a way.
Where there is llove for the country, there is progress.
we need not alter our basic foundations, but can correct the flaws earnestly and sincerely, our problem is that we have a narrow selfish vision in the core and we think that we are super intelligent, humility is lacking in us which is holding us back to be united as a nation...well,to be sexy, you have to be ssensual, beautiful and full of fragrance,as now there is some rotten ssmell coming from the corners..are you getting down from the flight..ssmell around..

Problem with Indians
by SUNDEEP GUPTA on Aug 12, 2010 11:52 AM  | Hide replies

The biggest stumblic block of Indians is their lack of respect for themselves. They have a slave mentaliy and are willing to be auctioned. If you see the behaviour of our Leaders and Politicians you can understand how this country is being systematically raped.
Hold...Politicians are reflection of society at large...the general mass is no different than our Politicians...they have developed a deep indifference towards the overall good for the country and engaged in pettiness in every walk of life.
And we keep saying "India is the next SuperPower"....SuperPower my foot..the country with 50% population below poverty level, extreme corruption can only dream of being a SuperPower.
Chinese are way ahead...and we are another Pakistan in the making..With leaders like Mayawati, Mulayamsingh and RajThackeray..the country will go to Dogs.
