by mb on Apr 20, 2010 07:30 AM  | Hide replies

for those of us who have held dr.tharoor in high esteem owing to his accomplishments and grace, now find it sad that this has happened.it is also puzzling as to why and how he could land himself in such a mess ,given his IQ ! i guess that adage abt.EQ being more important, applies here ...

u see, when a reader connects with an author via his literary expressions, one tends to definitely form an image.also, there was this faint hope of this country seeing at least a little change .now we find that the system tends to suck a person in ???? the person who gets sucked in, either buckles or joins hands ,which of the 2 is true in dr.tharoor's case being unclear yet.

S3X AND CORRUPTION SCANDAL
by free market on Apr 20, 2010 07:27 AM  | Hide replies

Tharoor proved that he is as dirty as anyone. If he continues in politics, people will just tempt him with pr0stitutes and India will be unsafe. Just because he speaks English does not make him great. Now I understand why Indians became slaves. They welcomed the Brits because they spoke English.

Shashi Tharoor
by GS SANDHU on Apr 20, 2010 07:25 AM  | Hide replies

Those who were Dr.Shashi Tharoor`s so called mentor in Indian Politics, brought him down for their own hidden agenda. They deliberately brought him to Indian Politics to decimate him.
Corrupt Indian Political coterie (opposition & ruling class are both side of the same coin) which rules India, will always hate an honest, upright, intelligent person like Dr.Tharoor.
No Indian politician has the capabilities and qualities like Dr.Tharoor, and this is his biggest liability.
The strangest part is that even so called intellectual media personalities started a hate campaign against Dr.Tharoor.
One can`t ignore recent columns of M.J.Akbar, Sobhaa De, Vir Sangavi, NDTV etc. which shows mean mentality of so called opinion makers. Some of them just attacked him to become more famous & intellectual than him. Basically they envy Dr.Tharoor.

BJP is playing into Congress hands- Proven
by Observer on Apr 20, 2010 07:20 AM  | Hide replies

Exactly the same thing posted by me yesterday is now proven right. Now from this controversy, beneficiaries other than Congress is, Lalu who came with strongest statement. An issue is normally raised by any party with an eye on votes. But BJP nowadays are batting for opposing parties guided by left. Unfortunately none is here to reach the message on ground reality to top leadership. Why should BJP fight Congess battles. Now BJP has solved one of Congress internal problems and given them enough new ammunition.

Earlier Post of me below

Why is all the Congress friendly TV channels asking for Tharoors resignation?. Look at TIMES NOW, who is dedicating almost half of its days headlines asking Tharoor to Quit. They are also angry that some one in tharoor camp said something against Narendra Modi. A channel which uses every opportunity to attack/malign Narendra Modi suddenly had a change of heart. And BJP seems overjoyed and can’t read through Congress spin managers games. More than anyone Congressmen want, Tharoor to be out, and sadly BJP leadership cant see thought this ploy. Didn’t BJP notice the reaction of majority Ruling party MPs, that of immense joy when opposition was shouting for tharoor resignation. Well Tharoor is inconsequential for congress and they absolutely have no problem for sacrificing him. They have used this Tharoor Bait many times successfully to their end objective. (contd)

We don’t know when BJP will learn from its earlier mistakes. It’s saddening that only party other than Congress with a national vision is not seeing through its chief opponent’s plans. In the name of Opposition Unity, BJP is sacrificing its Identity itself.

Now congressmen please don’t be angry on reading this post, we strongly believe to expose the inefficiencies in the democratic system a strong opposition party is needed and here BJP is the only possible candidate as of now, rather then regional parties with regional interests.

Tharoor should have taken classes from pawar, lalu, mulayam, karuannidhi, maya and other corrupt politicians how to do it. He didn't follow them and didn't take their advise so he faced the music hopefully he wud learn from them from now onwards

Are Mallus still proud of this loser.
by TeraBaap on Apr 20, 2010 04:28 AM  | Hide replies

Well said. The article cogently explain his debacle in politics. Congratulations Mallus! A loser who bite the dust is representing you. Modi has done his job. You can keep him as a liability as mallu pride and as a mascot in IPL Kochin if you really think that way. again, let me know how many times he visits his constituency in next 3 years now that he is free. I am not sure, what will be his legacy once he completes his term except sweat equity and 'external affairs' with Ms Sunanda Pushkar. So happy to nail this oversmart hyped and immature person. He need to learn from Maya, Jaya, Karuna, how to take sweat equity and grow without being caught.

Judging by their exasperation on rediff, they still are...

I found it comical that they blame BJP for Tharoor's demise because of their MODIphobia (no matter however misplaced it might be)..

Incidentally, just last week ago, the state BJP president of Kerala was attacked with homemade bombs by the sezxckularists.. just imagine if even some CON party corporator gets attacked in Gujarat.

I have no confusion, which Modi but As 'Kris' put it. some states are so skeptical about the name 'Modi'. Again I don't want to defend Lalit Modi. Though Narendra Modi is truly India's pride. For development and totally incorruptible. Some lessons people should learn from Narendra Modi that he is in the middle of Billions but totally dedicated to his states development, honest to his people that makes him way above any other mortal politicians of the country including his own party.

Truly a minister in his own league
by hotz on Apr 20, 2010 04:27 AM

Yes he is a gem of a minister who siphoned off 75 crores worth free equity to his would be wife sunanda pushkar..while calling economy class of India cattle class. He was truly the best minister of "External affairs" lol..He should have focussed more on getting more ration quota for kerala than IPL team which does not put food on the table..He was a liability for the congress therefore he had to go..He has had far too many chances to correct his mistakes

because:

a) he wears a suit and tie and can speak flawless english

b) he is an active "szxceckularist" and people are finding it hard to digest that a person with a dreaded last name of "MODI" has defeated one of their own.

c) He is a brown sahib, who was destined to teach the glorious fake-modern culture to the cattle class.
