VIENNA, Austria (KP)—Today violence erupted at the "Shri Guru Ravidas Sabha" temple, where a preacher of the Ravidas faith was attacked by a group of men.
At least 11 to 30 people have been wounded after armed men attacked crowds of worshippers in the Ravidas Temple in Vienna. Six men firing a gun and wielding knives clashed with the visiting preacher from "Dera Sachkhand" (a main centre of the Ravidas faith) in Punjab. Further details of the attack are to be confirmed.
Panthic Weekly is deeply concerned at the major misreporting of this horrific and saddening shooting incident. Many of the major news agencies have erroneously reported the incident as happening at a "Sikh Temple" and referring to the preacher as a "Sikh priest." This information is totally wrong and misleading, and could lead to negative implications for the Sikh community and Sikh Gurdwaras in Austria and also other European countries.
The Ravidas faith is seperate from Sikhism and doesn’t believe in Guru Granth Sahib Ji as being their Guru. This is evident from the name of the temple that the shooting took place. This particular religious group or religion believes in "Shri Guru Ravidas" as their Guru, whom Sikhs consider as a Saint but not a Guru.
In addition to this, they differ from Sikhism by the fact they don’t believe or propagate in maintaining the 5 Kakkars, taking Khande-di-Pahul (Sikh initiation), or using “Singh” after one’s name.

@ trend setter
there is not difference between sikhism and hinduism..
these are just two different ways to god..we have no quarrel about that..
only difference they have with your so called religion of p*eace is that hinduism and sikhism do not teach hatred for others like your holy book teaches you..
and does not go around telling others that only you are right and all others are wrong..
if your so called religion of p*ss believes in equality, why don't people of saudi, kuwait,UAE import poor brothers from p*rkistan, bangladesh, nigeria, somalia, sudan etc and make them reach..

guess its just about money and power these days......and those who cant or dont have it..they just cant wait for the moment when they can go free on the roads and show their real face......inhuman face
according to a recent report in janes magazine the real hurdle between india becoming a develope or should i say sensible country is too large democracy where people are becoming so free that they will go on rampage ever time in all small issue whenevr they want this is jst shameful and if this will continue welcome to new civil war and that will be end of our country unless someone put india army in punjab and give them open instruction who ever go on rampage shoot them on hand make a exaample out of it that nxt time they go out there this will b how u will b treated.
