1. Are these articles genuinely belonging to Mahatma Gandhi? The Chappals looked like well polished and maintained. The copper utensils can be made to look old. So, the question is are these articles not fake? 2. How did this guy get hold of the articles? Who sold to him? Did they have rights to sell? Or, are these STOLEN? Or, are they fake? 3. Previously, Mallya had purchased for some huge price what was alleged to be the sword of Tipu. Subsequently, some publications wrote that it may be fake, considering the fact that atleast 50 such Tipu Sultan's swords are in international market / collectors.
If the Bapu articles are genuine, then it is ironic that they are bought by a man from his liquor earnings! Bapu was not in favor of liquor. A man who makes his living by selling something which is not healthy, is to buy out his articles to save the nation's pride!! Bapu would surely be upset with what has happened with his legacy. All his principles were tossed out by Nehru (as PM) even when Bapu was alive. Now, the government tom toms its support for Gandhi principles by trying to get back his belongings through liquor money.

I happen to read the book my experiment with truth some time back .and i feel that if any we should be proud of and try to conserve is the legacy of Gandhiji and not his artifact he used .I completely agree with Mr.Murarilal goenka view , there but i only pray that the bidder would be graces enough to return them so it can be in museum for future generation to know what a simple man he was......that bottom line is we have his legacy which is more priceless what are we doing with it?
