What will India do with such items of a great man. A Great country ruled and inhabited by shameless and selfish people do not deserve them.

Do you also belong to the bracket of 'shameless and selfish' people? What about your friends? your relatives? your teachers? your colleagues? your children? How can you so irresponsibly say all Indians are 'shameless and selfish'?

Otis is right
by Nagesh Bhagwat on Mar 03, 2009 10:27 AM

I hope someone who really values these should have it. If Gandhiji is an inspiration globally, then he is a Global citizen. It would be unworthy to ask for his stuff, when we hardly follow his principles. Still better, if someone like Vijay Mallya (remember the sword of tipu sultan) gets to buy it instead of some dirty politician (they all are, without an exception) keep it somewhere in parliament house and one day we will know that it is stolen (remember Tagore's Nobel Prize)

by lalithaAnd ganesh on Mar 03, 2009 10:14 AM

i wish i had that much money, i would defintely buy them.. my heart bleeds for knowing that not one indian with good money is coming forward to buy them. what a shame! it is b'cos of him that india is believed to be a country which for thousands of years has been following the path of ahimsa, and it was ganshi who brought this kind of recognition to the world.
