Stop these articles.
by Krishna on Jun 02, 2009 04:03 PM  | Hide replies

Can we stop all these meaningless articles please and get on with our lives ? Life is hard in India, and we need to concentrate on living life meaningfully and well. Those who left this country for "greener pastures" can chew the cud and nurse their wounds or whatever.

I disagree. If you, as an Indian, are living, travelling or working abroad, you have a right to expect protection from the authorities in that country.

If Indian students are being targeted, then they are within their rights to protest. The other point which has been made is that it is the Australian universities which benefit from the Indian applicants.

Raj Thackery and his narrow-minded politics is not worth discussing. He can only influence lower class Marathis with his rotten ideology. Mumbai is cosmopolitan and will remain so...Raj Thackeys will come and go. Look at the sad state of Bal Thackey today. He and his party have been shunned by the very electorate and Marathis whose cause he has been (Supposedly) championing for all these years.

Australia is land of racist. Former Telstra chief,Sol Trujillo described his four years at Telstra as racist, backward and like stepping back in time. Australia is a nation full of white people who never ever respect anyone in this country land of POMS.

Thats the problem, being Indians we don't respect each other. How do we expect other countries/cultures to behave properly with us? Indians should be united in India first... we are fighting amongst ourselves, fight as a nation of patriots and we will win. If we fight as a hindu or a marathi or a bhaiyya we'll lose...
Wake up guys India should be filled with Indians who are ready to fight for themselves. We had enough of regionalism, caste-ism and language related wars in our history time to get united and fight against all odds.

Your views are very lowly! Indians are Indians whether from North or South. I can also say a lot of things about South India including the fact that Chennai is probably the dirtiest city that I've ever been to...but I consider Chennai as part of my own country.

I don't know from which part of india you belong to, all metropolitan cites will have clean and dirty place , this is the fact in almost all parts of the world, probably you visited only the dirty places, please think twice before penning your views, you are welcome to chennai to clean places. Please advice Biharis not to burn trains just because it did not stop in some two small stations, do you know the cost of building one coach....

If you have power of observation than u may have noticed that most of the guys targetted both in US and in Aus were from Andhra Pradesh. Do not judge North Indian guys based on ur personal experience and again like India, whole of North India is also very diverse. Also ppl from South India also have lots of hygienic issues. Do not divide already fractured Indians on the basis of region. Call of the hour is Unity.

In Tamil there is no distinction between 'th' and 'dh', so they are used as convenient. Mostly, Srilankan Tamils, who are not exposed to sanskritized names use 'th' more often. Also some people in TN do it.

Racism is common all over the world in some or other form.indian students should display good manners, behaviour and learn to defend themselves.Back home, they should start protest againest all forms of racism like caste based discriminations, which will give them moral support for their legitimate protest.

Indians In India
by Sudip Basu on Jun 02, 2009 03:44 PM

Are Indians safe in India?
Dont expect anything from Australian or Indian govt over these cases. Australia is by far a place of outlaws from many countries. So the kind of behaviour is expected.
We are not safe in India....expect a Bomb Blast anytime as we dont have the required biological spheres to fight it. When so many people die in India and our govt keeps on giving proof, what do we expect from the govt to do when ONE MORE Indian dies of racial discrimination.
We the common man of Indian Origin will face these abuse and are not protected. If you have a foriegn DNA, then you are not discriminated in other countries and you even have the NSG Security COVER.
