What is the point of opening more NSG hubs if it is left only to the officers and men of the Army to face the mortal risk of clearing the enemy; whether it is terrorist strikes of hijacks ? If one pays a closer look at NSG, the real offensive component that undertake action is the officers and men from the Army. The remaining are used as peripheral / window dressing components. If the nation is to invest so much of resources, why not train IPS Officers and their men to undertake offensive close combat and making them capable of performing the core tasks of NSG? Why not leave the much abused Army, plagued with manpower shortage to its role. It is most unfortunate an arrangement for an organisation that while the officers and men deputed from Army face extreme risks and sacrifice lives /limps, the rest watches the fun from a distance, gulp all credits and enjoy equal perks ! thaz fine. Next one will be in Banglore, Manglore and other cities in Karnataka...!!!
It doesn't matter how many such NSG groups we have in our cities. It is impotant how effective our security agencies are. Basically most of the top officials are corrupt and they will not allow these groups to function effectively. It is only a waste of money, just to fool the public and the world that india has got one. These groups can no way stop any terrorist activity in india because terrorists doesn't mind in losing their life to carry out their mission anywhere anytime in front of anybody. But our groups will be provided with less training, outdated arms, salary issues that keep them in low morale. Chidambaram is an idiot. Even if he captures a terrorist what he will do with him. SHAME.
