Mr. Chidambaram, could you explain as to how the personnel from this elite unit are deputed for VIP security? If it is to be used for only anti-hijacking and anti-terror duty, then how come some of the politicians (more as a status symbol) have black cat commandos guarding them? The nation needs to know. The fear is that these personnel may be requisitioned for tackling law and order or for VIP security thereby affecting their efficacy.

India always learns the hard way 26/11 would not have happened had we been better prepared Did US expect 9/11 ?? but after that they are better prepared

No use of all this. We are brown skinned people and we will never become great. All Indians should use fairness cream. Then we will become white and India will become a developed country. Shah Rukh Khan is our role model.
I think with NSG present now increasing across India, the Indian Army should take over the country and do something good for the country rather than waiting for the politicians for another 50 years..What do you think? This way we save on the crores of rupees our politicians waste..

stupid suggestion - what makes you think that a army general can be better than politician ?
Look at Pakistan Myanmar what good has army rule done ??
In comparison to US Commandos they look like nothing. The weapons in their hands look vintage and heavy. Where are night vision devices? Where are other smaller weapons like sharp small Knives? I know one can say that all this sounds very naieve but this is the exactly the kind of naivate our security forces have shown in past.

With due respect, Gallantry awards are for bravery, not just for getting killed. Mr.Karkare & Team fall into later. Weapons are fine, but why to show inferior, these bravehearts, who even without modern weapons, are ready to fight till end. Atleast the least we could do is to give these Sons of the soil their due respect.

You got a point..absolutely agree with you.. Bullet proof jackets which actually do work ( not like the previous one) should be the top priority,,
