by bhimsen on Jan 22, 2009 02:30 PM

Amar Singh had gone on record stating if I am killed then Congress president Sonia Gandhi would be responsible.

Now who wants to believe a mumbai blast accused?

Male chauvinist pig ????
by JGN on Jan 22, 2009 11:52 AM

Using husband's name as a "tail" is a North Indian tradition. Last month when I had deposit some Cash into the Bank Account of my Sister's daughter (she is married for nearly 22 years!!) I had called up her husband and asked him under what name the account is being operated. To my surprize the Bank Account was still in her maiden name!! Why the hell a woman has to use her husband's name as a tail??When will the MCP's learn to respect 21st century women??

There are problems when a baby come-in too
by Jonas DSouza on Jan 22, 2009 09:26 AM

Eveny member adjusts when a baby comes into the family while the baby simply sleeps. Has Mr. Dutt thought what a grown-up woman, leaving behind everything that she cherished; goes through while joining the family of her husband ? We men are not subjected to such drastic changes but seeing the state of our own sisters we have experienced only 50%

Its too much to force them to go for a total blood transfusion and impose our family name onto them. Let them live as they want - with their name changed or retained. They are doing the exact sacrifice that our sisters did.

Not the girl but the attitude that creates problem.....

It is the attitude that creates problem, when self centered one are the member of a family, naturally problems arise. The need here is to see the world from the other persons view to solve this problem.

Some time Ms. Sugathakumari had told that the old tradition of "Nairs" (throwing out the bag and baggage of "Nair" into the Court yard) to end the marriage is a better option!!!!!!!!!

Who is he to advice women?
by Kalpana Natarajan on Jan 22, 2009 12:56 AM  | Hide replies

Well Sanjay has not only jumped into politics, but has also sparked a debate on a woman retaining her surname, a direct dig at Priya Dutt and may be even Priyanka Gandhi

THose days women had to depend on a man for survival, and she had no identity and stand of her own. Now, things ahve changed. Woman doesnt have to look up to her man for survival, more than love.

Now marriages happen out of mutual respect and love. Out of love a woman would love to call her self Mrs. Husband Name, and she may change her name. However if the same thing happens out of force she will resist.

Mr. Sanjay Dutt is pissed off with his sister, and with her opinions about his wife. He is frustrated that his sister is still tagging along with him in the family. Instead of telling Priya, to mind her own business, he has taken a dig at her surname. This is not an opinion after giving both sides equal thought. Its an opinion out of a fit of anger. hence its invalid, and not worht discussing. If there was a "Cannot Say" sectino I would post my opinion under that.

his comments are not worth discussing. Well thats not the point.

Firstly, it irritates seeing a man who has no character, jumping into politics and wanting to "serve the people..." and on top of that he advices women to change their surnames after marriage and not "offend" their husbands.

I am sure if Priya had accepted manyata, we would not have received a sermon on surnames! May be that time he will preach modern thoughts!

Kalpana, I agree with you. Hats off to our mothers, sisters, srs-in-law and wife too.

I would never imagine being dolled-up on the wedding day and thrown into the house of my in-laws. For you women are going through it - hats off to you all.

how many fathers??

In my case just one! Unlike what all your mummy had to do to bring you in this world!

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

And yes darling, prompted!

When newcomers enter politics or the film industry, all newcomers are "prompted" by "veterans"!

You don't think all these new actresses get to act in mutli-crore production on just their talent, do you??

NARGIS, TRISHALA, MANYATA ALL ARE/WERE GIRLS. WHAT WILL HE DO? Will repent politics like amitabh and Govinda. Would lose the Bollywood market he is enjoying now. It is a wrong decision. Misguided by Amar Singh.

by Aalok Gandhi on Jan 22, 2009 12:39 AM  | Hide replies

If Sanju is serious about his political career then "Netaji" is right choice for him...

It would be an interesting battle between Sanju Baba and Vaajpeyi in Lucnow...Vajpeyi although projected himself as "moderate" politician...his agenda was alwasys to promote HINDU rashtra....

Let us support Sanjay Dutt to fight for secularism in India

This guy gave so much suffering to his family...first being a bad boy at school, then drugs, then anti national activities, going behind bars, coming out of it and dumping Rhea, again hooking up with newbie Manyata under controversial circumstances...his family should have abandoned this moron long back...he does not deserve any sympathy or support
