It should be made very clear to the world that Mohandas karamchand Gandhi was in no way related to the Nehru-Gandhi family. The family ie the biggest curse on India has been misusing the name Gandhi for their own benefit and to fool the world.

To be honest, out of oldies, Congress is much better, whether it is Gandhi or non Gandhi within Congress. Look at other parties Vajpayee (90 years), Advani (80 years) good for nothing except he is respected by few for his age and for his contribution towards BJPs communal riots.
CPM/ CPI - hopeless, we need them if we want to go back to 18th century.
Narendra Modi - We better bring Taliban , this guy is even worse.
I don't see any hope other than congress.
In Andhra, we had one smart politician (Chandra babu Naidu - the IT guy), he is probably an educated and capable PM, other than congress team (Manmohan Singh, Chidambaram, Rahul).
To be honest Congress is one of the best team, best head we have at the moment

Nehru and Gandhi dynasty took India back 50 years. Manmohan Singh worked better as a finance minister under N. Rao than as our Prime Minister and had a big hand with India's present day global status. All the older Congressmen have very little of education, intelligence and initiatives and are in high positions by being "yes men". It is difficult to get a natural leader like Obama untilthise old haggards get out from politics.

To come to power you need to be either rowdy or son of big politician.
He is probably not as smart as many, but he is young generation. I haven't seen, Rahul play cheap politics.
You don't have to be super genious to fly to rocket. You need to have determination, and hard work , this will take you anywhere you want. I think Rahul has that, he will better than many useless idiots in today's politics

You really need to look little further & deeper to understand how Gandhi's name was used & abused by these Congis just for their personal gains. Today because of internet you have access to much more information but it was not so during 50's thru 80's when Congis really accumulated their wealth illegally & now using the same to stay in power to loot more.

There may be 100s of kingdoms but still that land after Hindukush was called HINDUstan, but Gandhi allowed HIndustan to be partitioned in to pakistan and India, Look what we are getting from that pakistan, 60 years of proxy war and killing of thousands of indian, The same pakistan to which Gandhi insisted on giving 100 of crores of aid from a poor bleeding India. India would have been a different country if Patel or even Jinna became Prime minister, but Nehru screwed our country and his family is still screwing..

Hindustan or BharatVarsha or whatever name you give to Indian Subcontinent was not a peaceful place, never has been, there were so many constant wars between the states. From the Mahabharata to Alexander to Invasions from west to Britishers, you can find many instances of atrocities and wars between states. The last millennium is dominated by Muslim invasions from West, the millennium before that is full of wars between Shaivs and Vaishnavs and the millennium before that is full of wars between Buddhism and Puranic culture(mostly present day Hinduism) and the millenium before that was full of aryan and tribal invasions from north west. Blaming Gandhi for everything is a national pastime in India, i am not going to comment on the politics but at an individual level he definitely was more than a normal human. Someone has to have extraordinary courage to stand to injustice and power and to leave a prosperous life and return to serve the people. People like you can just talk, what have you done till now to help your people ?? I can only laugh at your ignorance. And i can also bet that you don't even understand Gandhi and non-violence, So when lawmakers of a foreign state / country stand up and pay homage to Gandhi then you have to understand that it must be a beautiful legacy so please stop ruining it.
