Hope the conference is objective
by Seshagiri Raghukumar on Feb 12, 2009 09:39 AM  | Hide replies

I hope this conference does not become a platform to promote biased ideologies, that scientists with wide a range of ideas have been invited and that there has been no censorship in the invitations.

You are right. Such conferences are generally meant for developing contacts so that this time you call me here and another time I will invite you there with some sight seeings, puchasing for wife and children etc.
They are like Rajsuya Yagya of Yudhisthir where through a Half Golden NEVALA maharishi Vyas already gave us wisdom on such meetings.
I have been seeing such meetings and there outsomes: a net ZERO except a change in routine.

very exciting conference.
by mridul on Feb 12, 2009 08:30 AM  | Hide replies

being an architect interested in archeology, im highly interested in the outcomes of this conference. For decades we have been reading about the unanswered questions of the harappan civilization. Where they came from, whether they were native or migratory, the level of sophistication of their civilization, the reason for their demise, are questions which can give amazing insights about the history of the region......

YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF THE TEXTBOOKS OF THE ARYAN INVASION THEORY!THERE WAS NO ARYAN INVASION.ITS A MYTH DELIBERATELY SPREAD BY WESTERN RACIST HISTORIANS WHO WANTED TO SONEHOW LINK THE WHITE RACET TO THE INDUS VALLEY CIVILIZATION.

The Aryan invasion theory was 'developed' by historians commissioned by the British crown in order to justify their colonization. With the help of this theory they claimed that since both the Indians and Moghuls were themselves invader-colonizers, the British too had a right to overthrow them and take over since their (Hindu and Moghul kingdoms) had become decadent and inefficient.

All the puranas are from south India, by dravidians
by NamoUdupiSrikrishna on Feb 12, 2009 02:34 AM  | Hide replies

The Vedas (Ayurveda, dont belong to this group), which are discriminatory towards majority are from the Indus valley but ramayana, mahabharatha and all cultural and civilisational assetd of present day India are from the south, contribution of people including present day maharashtra. later they also spread to northern India. Except present day pakistan, afghanistan, all people are from southern races.

Before the British invention of the word Dravidian did you know what it was? See the British could not accept some dark complexion person as Aryan like the British called themselves. British had no intention of preserving history but ruling and divide the country on fabricated ground. See Hindus worshiped nature and so did these Svarsvati river civilization. Sorry boys you were aryan, but in Hindu language this is kali yuga, or in science there is so much destruction going on that my friend you just don't know your history as science say in chaos and entropy first to be destroyed is order, and therefore history is forgotten. The fact is that humans have been living on earth for millions of years. Please tell me that dravidian history of millions of years like Hindus. Please do tell of a history which goes to human existence in Satya yuga four millions year ago which scientific corresponds to the time line science has proposed for human existence. Please again look into the Hindu account because to Hindus it happen almost a million years ago the Ramayana and that to in India.

Remember Ravern worshiped lord Shiva. so how do you say he wasn't Hindu, but still he did things like kidnapping Sita, and Ram did not rule Lanka as Ravern's brother did after ravern. So how do you say such things that come from the guilt of savages like the British who were know to burn libraries, close down educational institutes, burn villages and used harppana to build their rail road.

sir your argument is factually incorrect, the vedas are attributed to the aryan era. around 1000 to 500 bc, long after the decline of the indus valley civilization. Also the harappans were the original residents of the indian subcontinents. aryans were migrants from the west as is clear in all historical books u might have studies in school

Dear Mridul Sir, we have all studied one of the biggest lies of the past 2 centuries in our history text books - courtesy the Western and then our marxist historians. AYT is factually incorrect - it was just an assumptio of that bogus Max Muller without any fact to prove that. Please browse internet and you will get all the modern research items, which say that Vedic civilization started at 10,000 BC and Indus Valley civilization is at the twilight of the Vedic civilization. If you want to know more, please contact me at koushikrudra@rediffmail.com - I will be too happy to share this.

Bihar and UP are the main lands depicted in Ramayan, Mahabharat, Buddhism and Jainism. All rotating around main rivers like Ganga, Yamuna and Brahmaputra. I don't deny role of south, there were many depictions of south also.

The forest, where Ram & Sita lived in a kuteer during their vanvas is in "Bhadrachalam district" of Andhra Pradesh at the river Godavari. Ravan kidnapped Sita from this spot only.

Wrong forum buddy...this is a news item saying there's going to be a conference...anyway, allow me to point a small flaw in your statement...

Shows you've not read the Vedas, or understood them. Sadly, the Vedas are just texts...the discrimination came from the interpretation of the texts and not the text itself...much like the Jihad we have today

One good thing about this is it is not happening in India. Otherwise our Secular bandwagon would have hijacked it and tried to say that the Sindhu-Saraswathi civilization is in fact of Islamic Origin.

I'm happy it's not happening in India for a vastly different reason.

While the Congress will claim that it is responsible for the greatness of the Indus Valley, the BJP will use this as a means to further it's ram temple cause...don't you think?

Anyway I hope something interesting comes out of the meeting of great minds from different fields.

I want to highlight the need for combining genetics and archeaological evidence as done by renowned scientist Dr. Spencer Wells to arrive at accurate details.

Glorifying the past is not going to save us

When are we going to leave the past where it belongs, behind? In the entire history of humanity, the past had never made better the present. The human race can survive only when we learn from the past and proceed as if there was no yesterday.

If our present generation do not know about our real history, then how can they learn from our previous mistakes, or take spirit and strength from the glory of anciant India, that is Akhand Bharat Varsha.
‘Civilizations are kept alive only if their knowledge and vision are recreated in people’s minds.’
Knowledge of our “ITHIHASA” without feeling is an empty shell. It will not preserve the fire of the past but only its ashes.
