Hatred nurtured in the mind of Pakistan is the main culprit.

China is responsible for imparting nuclear technology and support in all forms to destabilize India and its enemies. Pakistan has no monet of its own all supplied from either US aid China.
If u dig a hole for others there s a possibility of u youreself falling into it :) Same would happen with China who has supplied Nuclear technology with Pak.. Chinas own nuclear technology shud be used against it.

"...a former prime minister, in a burst of misplaced enthusiasm, gutted the RAW counter-intelligence operations there (Balochistan)."

Is that Inder Gujral?

very thoughtful analysis
by Devdutt Nayak on Dec 08, 2009 03:12 PM

really enlightening article!

China indeed, the power to benefit the most from all that is happening.

I certainly hope that the Chinese have a few decent people in their top ranks because they have shown that they can do stupid things when possessed by power and wealth.

Between the CIA, the ISI, the Pak Army, and China, how do you lay the blame on any one entity.

Earlier it was NATO.

Now it seems Europe is a bit less barbaric and brutal (*seems*) than centuries past, and these three are carrying forward the Devil's agenda very adequately.

Afghanistan and India

Some of the comments are amusing. For instance; ISI and the Paki Military posing as Taliban in their long garments, beards and turbans making for a good picture or that the young Madarsa students learning to use RPGs, Tanks and Machine Guns etc.
I think that the author wishes that America was somehow more helpful to India than China and Pakistan. But would want India to be more assertive in having an independent foreign policy.
Indian policy makers do not share this perception. India is very friendly with the US and would want to be more pliant than Pakistan but the US does not see a more proactive role for India. Right in our neighbourhood Pakistan has a dominant role and for beings Patrons of Pakistan even China has more importance.
We claim the legacy of Gaffar Khan, and the traditional Kabuliwallas making India their home and boast of Mr Dilip Kumar, Mr Jayant and Amjad Khan as Pathans making it big. All as proof of our traditional friendship with the Afghans, proudly talk of Ahmed Shah Abdali as having ruled our country (in the most brutal manner)as our common heritage. In our pristine wisdom we overlook these minor lapses and continue to help the beleagured Afghan country even when no one who matters really cares or wants this help.

---The near-default of sovereign debt in Dubai shows that the petro-dollars may well be ephemeral---
The author may be informed that Dubai does not have any petro-dollars to write home about. Please be careful about statements made as facts.

You fight your own battle

Our battle has to be fought by us only and not by America. Before the battle, planning and preparedness is done. The answer is we have to make ourselves strong rather than begging for help from others

I would like to re phrase a quote that seems to be followed by America.
No country ever won a war by getting its own men killed but getting the men of some other country die for its sake.
