Indian history
by Mark Twain on Sep 04, 2009 02:48 AM  | Hide replies

Indians did not write history with respect to a specific calendar, does not mean it did not happen. In those days, calnedars were restarted by several kings repeatedly. All the cities mentioned in Ramayan and Mahabharat exist even today.

All that the research states isthat, the EPIC is not just Fiction
by Guest on Sep 02, 2009 07:59 PM  | Hide replies

This doesn't prove any religion or faith. It just states that the Epic Story that we have been hearing about, all these years, is indeed true. And Krishna was the mastermind behind the Great War, which rubbed out half the world. If somebody can bring about a great war and get rid of all the evil in the world, he must have been really intelligent/good/smart and he just sets a good example. When there are books written about Mahatma Gandhi,Bill Gates, Narayana Moorthy and Steve , why does it become difficult to believe that there is a book based on a living person who existed years before? Right now, we don't have a cult for Mahatma Gandhi, but who knows , after 1000 years, people may even worship Mahatma.

Just read Bhagavad gita-in the sense not just reading-try to understand. If you prefer English version-go for the one by Chinmayananda, because the treatisies of Sri C Rajagopalachary, and Sri S Radhakrishnan(ex-president of India) are too heavy in their language.

I agree 100 %, Krishna existed, if someone claims to be highly intelligent person, I agree that’s why thousands of people are following him. If someone claims to be God then every God has to go under the scanner, God should not be scared to answer the questions. I think there was rivalry between Indra and Krishna going on, the evidence is some sort of incident regarding Govardhan parvat (mountain) where Krishna asked villagers to stop offering prayers to Indra for stopping rain. Also City IndraPrastha may have come into being after defeating Indra in some war and ending his influence in Indian politics, because IndraPrastha could also mean Indra defeated and to defame him stories being floated around such as Indra eat beef or sucks Shiva Linga extra. Also Krishna defeated Karuvas in war, so we have story from one side only, as history belongs to winner. If Islam have completely annihilated Hinduism, we all may have been blowing ourself up to defend Islam, that’s what happening in Pakistan. In extreme self defence situation we may have to use violence against fellow humans but it can be a personal victory for us but failure as human being because violence is better for animals as they don’t have senses to talk out there problems or see long term discontent due to violence. People should avoid spiritualising/glorifying violence against fellow humans, the only way violence can solve problems hundred percent is, if all humans on earth are killed, No Man-No Disagreement- No Fight.

Enlightenment

It is a well established theory that bacteria like beings came into existence with lighting strikes in oceans filled with amino acids. But life is about conscious or self awareness, and everything requires a potential source, things cannot appear or disappear from nowhere otherwise its not science. If we assume that photon of light is the element which get conscious, then question is HOW ? When light goes through water, externally we see change in its wavelength but internally it may be like a dream, when suddenly in deep sleep we become aware and start dreaming. With constant lighting strike through oceans filled with amino acids for million of years, one day jackpot is hit, photon get immersed in an amino acid shell which structure support total internal reflection of light and also it got some water molecules inside which can keep light conscious for longer time. Once light get opportunity to stay conscious for longer time, it can start work to increase its conscious life and evolution begins. Life may evolve wherever in Universe, but basic principle will remain the same, photon get conscious/living while travelling through a refractive medium like water, but light travel very fast and refractive medium cannot continue indefinitely, so both of them have to be packed inside a circular tube like structure, which support total internal reflection of light.

I believe in God and worship Shiv Linga but its for practical purposes. No one is born all knower, we have to learn our rights and wrongs from the society and family around us. So even when I don’t know the reason for worshipping Shiv Linga, still its presence around can give the subtle message that “I am born in this world out of an animal activity and thus need to balance my animal cravings, attractions and fears with some higher thoughts”. Life is about like walking on a rope, too much of swing left or right will make you fall down. God or religion can be used to keep order in society and keep people honest without the need for huge investment on resources like CCTV and police/army. But every coin got head and tail, at some stage dark side of moon realise that belief can be used for selfish purposes like political/physical domination and bright side of Moon can be used to deceive people into thinking that its Sun. Overtime struggle between the followers of Sun and Moon, is played out on the stage called Earth and that struggle leads to invention of modern technologies where right and wrong could be judged properly.

Britishers rubbished our ancient history as myths but then we always believed in our traditions and culture. Glad to know that this has been scientifically vindicated.
