There is nothing new in this report as Rajnath Singh had already fired salvos to this effect after the debacle.
As he himself is not much criticized in the report, quite clearly he is pitching for the new PM candidate though he is believed to have engineered the defeat in the first place.
As president of the BJP, he can not throw the reponsibility upon the office bearers only and come out clean himself.

defeat of BJP
by ramkaran kumhar on Aug 20, 2009 05:25 PM  | Hide replies

dear media persons, please do not take it defeat of BJP only. it is defeat of India itself. your eyes should open now after surrender of MMS-PM and Sonia Party before Zardari Gilani and Terroists, which has proved to be a Pakistan party. you media person firstly forced India to release Terrorists in Kandhar case and now blame it on BJP.YOu are with both Chor and with Sipahi, serving the cause of Pak and Terrorists. personal or otherwise attack on MMS were justified is proved by now. but you media persons are puppets scared of Inidan Mujahidin and raise false boggie of Varun or other BJP leader. you donot have guts to write agaisnt Bukhai, Ajam Khan and other terrorists teachers- Ullema.you media persons are cutting your own feet. Kuldeep Nayar and like minded Journalits are on paid Gulam of ISI for writing in favor of them and agaisnt India.such type of Goible's propoganda (now terrorist propoganda)can go on only in so called secular India - not in Secular Amerika or Europe. this shows that indian media is competing each other to become favored party of Pak just like Jaswantsingh who is annoyed with Patel because he forced his Master Ruler of Jodhpur to surrende to India who had planned to side with Pak.

Times Now etc
by vanishing race on Aug 20, 2009 05:20 PM  | Hide replies

Times Now , NDTV , CNN IBN are all on the payroll of the Congress..their presenters just cannot hide their glee at what's going on in the BJP. But remember, in politics, nothing is permanent. Congress was almost thought to be finished in 1999..so was TMC in Bengali in 2006...but both have bounced back. I'm sure the BJP will do so as well in due time. Till then...let these guys have some fun.

The only reason congress won is by manipulation EVMs. Unnecessarily opposition parties are worried too much

Sure. The same EVMs propelled BJP to power in 1999 and to a defeat in 2004. The same EVMS proplled Navin Patnaik to victory, though all polls pointed that the Congress had an edge.

Even the BJP's internal report do not mention EVMs as a factor nor do the RSS

Whoever's payroll they're on...it doesn't matter. the media just has an inflated ego that it can chart the course of indian politics...but they're horribly wrong...it never happens that way. it can never influence public opinion to that extent..people eventually see thru them....they only end up loosing their credibility as they are doing now.

Well said. Bjp has started steps for 'sudhdhikaran'.

Your view on news channels are correct: add more to it *news.

I advise you to watch ZeeeeeNews, better fair news channel.

Yesterday, one of the bjp leader clarify about LKA statement given in Pak. He also admitted it is far different than singh book. LKA has same opinion about jinha as all of us have. Only think Jinha told after partition is "All paki, hindu/muslim/etc. will have equal rights in this country...". It was only media which presented the issue on very very wrong manner.(Half truth is more dangerous than a lie).

Watch at 10 PM on ZeeNews today.

hello Rediff, what are you writting?
by modelrator on Aug 20, 2009 05:18 PM  | Hide replies

I am surprised to see this report on rediff. How come rediff can say that Modi was responcible for defeat. Raising his name for PM was one of teh reason. Can rediff deine who prepared this report and who released it. It is nothing but bvashing of BJP by some pro-congi media. Ther could have been many other reasons for the defeat. But this one is going down my throat. Rediff is blaming L K Advani directly. Is it possible. The next thing is blaming PM as weak PM, so what wrong was in it. a couple of days back rediff it self gave this medal to PM. What more you want to prove this. Every body even a scholl going children knows it. But rediff can not digest any thing against Congress. They are perhaps being paid for bashing BJP only.

I suppose you are write they are also fogetting the name of Rajnath Singh, the actual blame should go to him as he was the president of the party.Despite of being the president he could not keep his flock together. He lacks organisational qualities needed for president of national level party.Instead he sided with certain group which created divide more apparent. Now, they should concentrate on highlighting the negatives of Congress and the rising prices is one of those very important issues which can help them to gain some lossing ground. Hurry up Mr.Rajnath and forget about chintan.

Relax. Chill down. Rediff did not say Modi was responsible for defeat of the BJP but qouted the internal report of the party leaked to the press.

Modi campaigned in 200 seats where BJP won 30 (mostly in Gujarat). Non-BJP parties considered Modi their best campaigner. Wherever he visited, mostly BJP lost!

In Gujarat, Modi scrapped through skin of his teeth. He was a major disappointment for the party.

You need to address Times Now which rediff quoted. I think the whole world knows that BJP has shown certain vulnerability to media leaks. They tend to fight their battles using the media so much so that too has become one of its causes for its decline

Vacancy: Principal Opposition Party
by Pop Head on Aug 20, 2009 05:18 PM  | Hide replies

The report clearly highlighted how bankrupt the BJP is. Clearly, there is a vacancy for India's principal opposition party. The Left could have filled that gap, but they too like the BJP is on the decline. This leaves parochial parties like Mayawati to fill the vaccum.

Is it a fact that BJP should always go with the RSS. Due to this RSS factor it lost the common elections this year. Its time for them to realize the root cause of defeat & make Sushamaji as PM-Projected.

Instead of raising real issues like BSP That is Bijali - sadak - pani and health education and employment, they were squalling because some body said something which are far form issues concerning people. the BJP should concentrate only on current issues not the issues 5000 years back, also we must understand is my dynasty kings ruled our country should not have messed like this.
