No Id festivities at Rizwanur`s Home
by Pradeep Sangwan on Oct 01, 2008 03:23 PM

So what ? Why this case is being highlighted time and again? Why this special treatment to Rijnawur ? He also have done a mistake of spoiling a family by aluring someone`s daughter. In case he would have been in an Islamic country and have done such act, he would have been killed in Public.

What about hundreds of Indians ( all reliogions) being killed by Terrorists and no one talking of not celebrating ID or Diwali?

People like Indrani should be stoned in Public.

Rediff has got intellectually bankrupt
by anuj agarwal on Oct 01, 2008 03:23 PM

Why this non-sensical report is being put. Do you think there would be celebrations at the homes of the people died in bomb blasts. Rediff is acting as the spokesperson of Indian Mujahideen.

No Id

I do not want to comment on Mr. Riz death. But this issue is already an year old and has already drawn considerable publicity. Why does Rediff want to keep reminding indians about this?

Why not also say 'No Deepavali at Mohan Chand Sharma's Home'.

Rediff, Please stop digging the grave.

You must and would get justice
by debkumar dasgupta on Oct 01, 2008 03:17 PM  | Hide replies

Rizwan would definitely get justice. The law of this land is still strong enough and if Riz does not get justice the people of this land shall always believe that our judicial system is only for those who have money and muscle power. I support all those learned people of West Bengal who have till now fought for his cause especially Mr.Kalyan Bandopadhyay and I wish all police officers and the Todis who today have brainwashed their daughter by now be brought to book and exemplary pushiment should be awarded to them.

I am bewildered at the comments
by sumit verma on Oct 01, 2008 03:13 PM  | Hide replies

I am a bit bewildered at some of the comments below, eventhough not fully surprised i must say.. A very positive story with a humanist intent is being criticised for being 'minority appeasing'. Everyone must remember the fact that Riswanur wasn't a terrorist! The comments drawing so much connection with terror strikes and written as if Riswanur had a connection with the terror strikes. Now that is like talking with no reasoning. A good law abiding common man who is no more is being 'shunned' by these comments.

You got it all wrong. People posting messages know that this guy was not a terrorist. The only point of disagreement is the fact that while the death of a muslim is glorified and his family shown as an ideal one (I have my doubts about that), no mention is made anywhere in the same portal about the innocent hindu victims of terrorism, primarily the Kashmiri Pandits. This anger is again appeasement policy of Rediff and not primarily against the columinst, who in any case may try to justify 9/11 if paid well enough.

Sam,
Why you forget about dalits who are maimed/raped/kicked around by upper castes. Upper castes are unleashing worst form of terrroism against low castes. There is no reporting for such incidences simy because we have very much used to for all such violence in the name caste.

fyi..
i am not a fool to be binded by any religion...and therefore not a follower of any! anyway, it looks if anyone speaks for someone, he will be termed as a representative of the community. It is the same mindset that creates hatred and animosity between communities...anyway, i know there is no use giving gyan on such things here.

Mr Sumit verma,
Yes, Rediff should have the same consistent logic everywhere not selectively in one case. A inter religous couple(christian guy and muslim girl) were brutally murdered by the girl's brothers in bangalore two years ago, why doesnt rediff write about it. Another hindu guy who married a muslim girl in murshidabad district was murdered by the girl's relatives as recently as 2 months ago, why doesnt Indranil roy write about it. They were also as law abiding as Rizwanur rehman.

LEARN TO WRITE POLITELY FIRST AND THEN LEARN TO USE YOUR BRAIN IF YOU HAVE ONE. THATS WHAT I MEANT. IF PEOPLE CAN FEEL THE PAIN OF BOTH, WHY IS ONLY THE MUSLIM MOTHER BEING WRTIIEN ABOUT?
