Who's bothered
by Sendhil Kumar on Oct 01, 2008 02:51 PM

rediff is no better than a cheap tabloid, who's bothered anyway, we have better issues in the country currently, rather than pondering over such stupid artciles.

wah debbani,
That should be the spirit, inspite of buddhadeb begging Ratan tata and virtually writing a blank cheque to him and Miss Mamata going to every gandhi right from gopal krishna gandhi to sonia gandhi and manmohansingh, you have got the nerve to still say its a bengalee problem, why dont you say the same to the singur and nandigram problem and let the rest of the country have one issue less.

What rubbish?
by Rajeev Venkat on Oct 01, 2008 02:46 PM

My sympathies with the family but does this news deserve such a report? Lacs of Kashmiri Hindus have been forced on the streets, I am surprised that no one wondered whether they celebrated Holi, Deepawali or eating Kheer or Laddu... What rubbish!

Every bit of news the Media tries to potray it with an angle of Majority-Minority. This was a simple case of a poor stupid boy taking on the might or tradition of a well-connected Businessman & it so happens that the boy was a Muslim & the Businessman a Hindu. thats it!

Seems like Indrani Roy Mitra is rendered jobless... and rediff is running out of good stuff to publish...
by Sunil Varma on Oct 01, 2008 02:46 PM  | Hide replies

There are a lot of issues which are worth given a profound attention... I don't know why Rediff is encouraging such stuff... wasting the readers time... At least from now on Rediff should stop publishing obsolete stuff... I'm not sure if these guys will come up with much more stuff after 1 year

Rizwanur's death
by NARAYAN KURUP on Oct 01, 2008 02:44 PM  | Hide replies

It is beyond doubt that money and muscle power played important role to either take the life himself by Rizwanur Rahman or forced him to commit suicide. The Police had no business to interfere in the affairs of a couple who legally married and became husband and wife under the Special Marriage Act. But it is unfornate that though we are living in a so called democratic society with certain fundamental rights enshrined under the Constitution, the rich and those who have access to the corridors of power always do whatever they like and get scot-free in the eyes of law. Though nobody can bring back Rizwanur to his weeping mother, at least she can get some solace if the real culprits behind such cruel and inhuman incident are brought to book and give exemplary punishment. It will also be a good lesson to those who become blind after enjoying the fruits of power, status and wealth. On this occasion of Id, I pray to Almighty to give courage and perseverence to Rizwan's moher and close relatives to bear the loss of an innocent soul whose only mistake was that he married a girl he liked.

Excellent Article
by sudip duttagupta on Oct 01, 2008 02:40 PM  | Hide replies

This is an excellent article. We should continue the candle light vigil untill the killer of Rizwanur(who forced him to kill himself) gets the ultimate punishment.Priyanka should also be punished as she is a dhabba in the name of love. This was the first step for that "insaaf" and we need to be fiorm enough so that the shamelss Govt who tries to save these culprits cannot do so.

Sudip is a staunch supporter of Trinamool Congress. Please don't call him a communist. He is so against the communists that he will destroy every attempt by them to do any constructive activity.
