Dont take this award seriously. This award is in the same category as the desi versions. Just check out the names - Ajit balakrshnan, Sreenath Srinivasan, Joy Cherian - all MALLUS! The biggest paochial lot amongst us indians. Probably, they must have mistakenly thought Mira Nair is a fellow mallu 'cos of her second name. lol!

This kind attitude is what makes Indians in the dark ages. Frog mentality. When a frog tries to get away from the filthy water, the fellow frog pulls it back to the water. Both the frogs die in the same water.

Would u say that all the other names mentioned in the report like Professor Padma Desai,Professor Jagdish Bhagwati,Dr Renu Khator,Somdev Dev Burman,Sunil Gulati,Dr Navin Shah,Swati Dandekar,Sonal Shah,Mohini Bhardwaj are all Mallus ???? Some people never grow up. They find fault in anything and everything viewing it in a regional manner.
Most oif these awards and cereminies are held by same stale faces and party circuit guys nominating eacn other and supporting each other.These hardly have anything to do with their background,real character,real contribution or capability.It is networking and nepootism that is important and on background of things.Such nominations and awards are meaningless exercises just for pleasure and media junk generation.YOu cna se same old and corrupt thir drate faces in politics and hi-class socialite circles in delhiu or Mumbai or any other place.It is impossibnle to identify ,compare and choose betwen various Indians and NRIs working at thouisands of places and their actual worth of contribution to society and their achievements.Mira Nair is one of the party cicuit bores.She is working in just one field of thousands of work being done by human beings.Why we people give too much glamour and importantce ot films and cricket etc? Probably it is all related to money generation power.
