The bore hole is a small opening there is only one one way for the air to escape that is from the top. And if something large such as this child falls into a hole then then a plug is formed the air escapes more slowly this cushions the fall. Understood you fool. It's bore well. which means, it's hardly 1/2 foot in dia meter. The kid will slip through it gradually , not fall free. Which mackes it even more scary and gruesome..
