Bore well tragedy
by Raghu on Mar 27, 2008 09:10 AM

All is well that ends well. Incidents like this where children have fallen into bore wells left uncovered have become very common. Permanent remedial measures should be taken to avoid repetition of same negligence and agony. It is disgrace that no lessons are learnt yet.Law should be passed making careless working contractors, supervisors and engineers personally responsible for causing such mishaps since innocent children fall into it.

Wow, good news
by knowsoft on Mar 27, 2008 08:57 AM  | Hide replies

I felt so happy reading this news as if somebody very close to me was saved. It was heart-rending to read that she was crying "Mummy, mummy, pani pani". How she must be feeling at that time! Since she is such a small kid, she still will be in shock. Hope she becomes cheerful soon.

Disgraceful !

This repeat tragedy reflects very poorly on Mayawathi and her administration, if there is an administration worth its name in UP. Why does the administration leave open such gaping holes for children to fall into ? I hope Mayawathi herself falls into one such deep hole once to wake up from her slumber and to realize the trauma of these hapless children.

It is absurd of you blaming Mayawati for this thus giving a total excuse to the contractor who dug the bore and let it open.

When will we all be responsible for what we do ? Govt. or the military will come later. Primary safety measures must be taken by us so that our own family will be safe.

"Why does the administration leave open such gaping holes for children to fall into ?" And what are you going to do about that you idiot, other than blaming Mayawati and the administration for this? Tell me, how are you different from Mayawati, she ignored it, and you are doing the same. How hard is it to fix a hole? Go do it your self loser

I am surprised M can come up with such crass idiotic remarks betraying his mental bankruptcy. People elect Governments to discharge their res- ponsibilities, first of which is ensuring the safety of its people. If it can not, then people who elected them have to force them to do it. In this, local people can get a Court order direct- ing Mayawathi or her Local Administration Minis- ter to close all such holes within say 30 or 45 days rather than waiting for more such tragedies to occur. This is a more sensible solution rather than expecting some one staying 2000 miles away to come and personally do it.
