If this is true it reminds me of the Brezhnev era in the Soviet Union wherein anyone who dared to dissent was immediately shunted off to a mental hospital. It seems RAW has been trained well by the Soviets at least in this aspect.

Women should not be allowed to work outside house.
by Rahul on Aug 24, 2008 11:06 AM  | Hide replies

See the result of allowing women to work outside houses. Now a days root cause all problems are women. Please note that women are not supposed to be stepping out the premises of house, but demand whatever you want by staying inside house. They must be confined to four wall of house. The greatest asset of any woman is her dignity and respect. I don't understand how women are compromising the same for the sake of fame, pleasure and money.

Moreover, what was a woman doing in RAW ? is she capable of carrying the responsibilities her job demands ?

I am shocked to say the least that not only do people hold such views even today, but have the temerity to air them in public. There's a phrase in English to describe such people - MCP: Male Chauvinistic Pig.

I fully agree with you. Women are less intelligent compared to men, so they better look after the house and stay within their limits.

Mr.Qaiser,The practice of sati had been banned long before.I pity your ignorance. But you can with your open eyes see as how Islam treats women. The Muslim women are living in hell with no freedom and wearing burkas. If you are really sympathitic to women then adopt hinduism and you will get peace of mind and freedom of thought.

India's democracy!!!
by Ambedkar on Aug 24, 2008 10:52 AM  | Hide replies

"So, while both private sectors have improved, India can claim today that it is ahead of China in fostering entrepreneurial capitalism."

(1)
(a) China is a communist country, rate of corruption is very less.

(b)India is a Democratic country, rate of corruption is high.

(2)
(a) Chinese political party is completely developing their country in all fields.
(b) Indian political party supports more entrepreneurs, no sports activity, no poverty reduction.

India is more concentrating on capitalism, but not on other fields.

Conclusion: If a country needs to progress political party should support and encourage in all fields, not only capitalism.

Both Congress and BGP are unfit in this category.

Lets vote Communists this time and lets give them one chance and see what really they can do for our country.

I think RAW by itself is not the correct name for an intelligence agency. The name is best suited for an organization that is involved in ART & Culture. IB is a good name for an Intelligence/Spy Agency. We should find a name which is on the same lines of IB

Officer's like Nisha and the Sikh officer mentioned belong to IB not RAW. Unfortunately some people are stuck in unfriendly places.

By the way the World over the Intelligence agenices names are anything but on the lines of RAW

eg: CIA, FBI, KGB, Mossad

The name RAW is ideally suited for any of these organizations : gosamrakshani samithi, child and family health, societies for preserving ancient arts, NGO's for sustaining and promoting Numerous Indian languages etc.

For reasons unexplainable if the Government finds it difficult to change the name RAW at this stage atleast somehow they should add a K so that it sounds more like Rock(RAWK ), which is progressive and forward looking.

Shittiest Place On Earth
by viprem prem on Aug 24, 2008 10:50 AM  | Hide replies

We have made India The Shittiest Place On Earth. I am one of them.

None of you disagree with this fact. If you disagree it proves for itself that you are Shitty and you belong to this shittiest place.

Kahe ka India Mahan??

We are mere bunch of hypocrites. No other place on earth, you will see so much disparities, so much odds, so much injustice.

1. We worship woman. But, on the other hand woman is also under worst condition.

2. We worship Earth, we worship Water, we worship Air, We worship Trees, We worship Animals.. Virtually any thing imaginable > Even Human Genitals
> But, confront me if you find anything as really respected/cared/valued.
Travel around you will find things full of contrast and disparities.

We worship Ganga and consider its water as so holy. But, go and see for yourself. You will not find any other river as dirty as it. Jake Banaras aur un sare cities mein dekho, pakhana aur human corpse hum bahatein hain. I have seen by my eyes.

Time ki Puja karte Hain. "Mahakaleshwar, KalBhairav.
But, sabko pata hai, how punctual and disciplined we are.

We boast of our rich heritage. But, there have other places on the globe where equally great civilization and cultures have evolved.
Anyway, what's so great about it??

What is more important and more valued is what we are now?? Where do we stand?? How do we think??

RE:Shittiest Place On Earth

Everyone of us should try to do some introspection.
It's more important to be a good and law abiding citizen than anything else. A good citizen knows his duty and responsibility for himself, his neighbor and his country and whatever he is part of. I have traveled to more than 25 countries around the world. I am sure this is what, more valued.

We talk of progress, high GDP growth etc. etc. But, take my word, we would always be a miserable society, however economically prosperous we become if you don't change our attitude.

You may despise me for such words. But, when something like this happens to you or family member, you would understand what kind of society you are a part of. How helpless you become! Forget the kind of injustice and misery you meet with in day to day life, that you have got used to.

Yes, we have lot of good things. I don't deny. But, it is also the truth we lack the basic and most fundamental quality, that is to be a good citizen. Nothing matters more than this.

We as a citizen, have made our society such a place where such people thrive.

We are all Nishas
by Gopalan Ramachandran on Aug 24, 2008 10:33 AM

What is new? Government and every employee of every department of the state and central governments treat all of us with contempt and unrefined disregard. They are the descendants of the British. We are worms that pay taxes that pay for their bungalows, cars, servants, pompous lifestyles and their children's education abroad. That is why we have the Pay Commission where pay is both a noun and a verb.

Ego & Arrogance
by S Ray on Aug 24, 2008 10:29 AM

It is not surprising to know that ego and arrogance is the pitfall here on behalf of the senior most management. The government should make it mandatory to senior managers in government post to have compulsory psychological orientation to mana management. or lessons on spirituality.

Problem of managing women employees in India
by Jayaraman .T.S on Aug 24, 2008 10:17 AM  | Hide replies

India is a country where unwanted hue and cry is made if a lady is involved.Whereas lots of atrocities are committed against women,it cannot always be concluded that what a lady/ woman says is correct.Atrocities are mostly committed against uneducated, poor women whereas in the case of modern and educated women,it's the other way round. They, in fact, are arrogant and basically frogs in a well. They want equality with men, but not prepared to take the hardships is service. They want merit promotions and excellent postings without taking the trouble to take up postings in backward places or in difficult areas. There should be a limit to this non sense going on in the name of equality for women.I feel this is all dirty politics.Women should learn to understand their limitations and behave or act accordingly. They are never going to be equal to men - They can blame the Almighty for that.Anything and everything they achieve today is made possible only by men.

She should approach a court for justice if she feels aggrieved rather than trying to commit suicide in front of Prime minister's office. It will be a problem for everyone wherever the so called modern Indian woman is present.Only rights, but no pains or responsibilities.National Loss.

Even if we leave aside the adjectives (adverse or otherwise) of chauvinism attributed to you, let's look at the issue from individual vs. establishment point of view. That, according to me, seems the case rather than what you are suggesting.

Good point about fighting establishment.Let's not mix up two issues here: one about gender equality (the fair and unfair part of it),and the other about an individual vs. an institution. I too agree with you that this is a case of the latter, and not the former. The establishment wouldn't have hesitated to act in the same fashion, even if the victim would have been a male. There are ample instances in Indian establishment too to prove this.
