Suicidal people need psychiatric help
by free market on Aug 24, 2008 09:01 AM  | Hide replies

All suicidal people need help. The act of committing suicide is actually the result of a psychological need for attention. They feel left out by all other human beings and so they take the drastic step.

So RAW is correct in asking this lady to get psychiatric help. She should be forced to take help as soon as possible. Otherwise she may commit suicide and her family will be in agony.

Before making this comment you should have noted that she was a Director of training department which require the chairperson to be a role model. How can RAW make a person of suicidal tendency to be a role model if she is not qualified for it.

TRANSPARENCY
by NDLS on Aug 24, 2008 08:57 AM

It is well known that our government system is excellent and so is the tolerance of our fellow citizens. Why the issue is not raised with thunder when the injustice is just taken place? why it is kept pending? If the issues are taken up at the right time with the help of masses with required momentum then the corrupt machinery will not have any chance to do any manipulation.

Lets address the issue when it starts
by Anantha PS on Aug 24, 2008 08:57 AM

It is treatment like this that makes a person turn from Good to bad. If this lady had been from a Minority religions...she would cultivate anti-national feeling not only in her mind..but in the minds of all ppl connected to her directly or indirectly. So we should address the issue from root no matter if it relates to one person or the whole community.

Please dont comment based on assumptions and your past experiences. Actually it is not your fault. Till now you have only seen groups lke that which fuel hatredness communalism and goondaism like your VHP, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena, BJP, All India youth congress and so on.

There can be groups for betterment causes too.

Please remember IT sector does not provide reservation. But still a major chunk of SC/ST's are part of this and contributing towards the growth of the industry. Also this is just the second generation of educated SC/ST's. Wait and watch till the next generation. We would be occupying all the senior postions both government and non government both in public as well as private companies. Then you can see how we would fuel the growth of our economy and promote harmony across the country which Brahmins could not do in these 2000 or more years

Dear Venkata,

Please try to understand the spirit in organizing such a group. Any initiative to help the growing SC/ST community is a major contribution towards developing India.

I am not a GOD nor the PM of India to have the bandwidth to develop the whole of the country. This is our step in a the available bandwidth of resources to contribute towards the growth of India by developing the community which is reviving only now after ages of harassment.

Moreover if you are aware of the 80:20 principle; I am just following it and putting 80 percent of my efforts in developing this 20 percent of the Indians who would be palying a major role in contributing towards 80% of the growth of the country in the coming future.

in this rocket age it is shame on us to fight on the basis of caste, we are human , with all this scrap we are masking our raising tommarro with our own hands, see the other nations like chaina and brazil they are fighting to gain an edge over developed nations like USA, but we are still at the base line forming communities and fighting against our own people.

The very fact that you have kept your first message to this news stating nothing except for an advice to join SC/ST community itself shows your caste consciouness and biased attitude? Isn't it? How can we believe that you are trying to contribute for the country's development? Don't you feel like covering vested interest with a patriotic mask?

Caste is not something me and other like minded people like me of our generation are promoting. Caste based differentiation has always been existing and lies deep rooted in Indian culture and Hinduism.

The ill affects of those aspects of caste based differentiation that has come through ages and has been promoted through so called holy books like Vedas, Manu Smruti, Upanashids and epics of Indian history has damaged our sense of unity amongst Indians. My attempt is not to promote caste based differentiation but to curb it and thereby bring everybody on a same platform.

I do appreciate your efforts to uplift certain category of our country. To put it, I'm thankful to you for being that kind of responsible towards our society. However, when you do such things with a feeling of vengeance or hatred over other communities, you'll obviously adopt a biased appraoch. What do you say? You have just replied to one of the messages saying that look out for how SCs n STs take India ahead in the future. What do you mean by it? Does some kind of development come from the ability and dedication of people or simply the communal background of people? How would you support the very fact that keeping people with questionable abilities in key responsible positions only on communal basis is not good for anyone, rather a threat to country's propserity in long run? Please don't think that I'm against any community. Fortunately for me, I don't have such mean mentality. I won't say anything now, rather I want you to say something. I want to know your opinion. regards

Why don't we waste our energy for more burning Issues
by Atul Narayan on Aug 24, 2008 07:59 AM  | Hide replies

Dear Rediff
Is it such an issue that needs public debate???

This is off course a news. But not so important that it should be debated in public???

What has happened to you that sometimes you behave like other childish media sources???

Don't you think there are more burning issues surrounding us and our nation these days???

Why not open discussion boards to debate the issues such as:

- Mistreatment and Suppression of People of Jammu
- Anti-India Rallies bu muslims of Kashmir
- Genocide of Kashmiri Pandits
- SIMI
- Anti National and Pro-Divisive Speeches by Imam of Jama Masjid

First i thought i wouldn't reply, but then i decided to spent a minute...

The world is not made up of 1 or 2 issues, there are multiple simulataneous burning issues
for u the priority is Kashmir, for Nisha she is not bothered what happens there..

so when you reply think of the relevance of this article with what is discussed, not what you feel is important.
This is not your issue alone, something all Indians need to think.

for your information this is an issue that needs a public debate. if this woman was your wife or mother or sister then you wouldnt be talking like this. and anyway this is not just about Ms. Nisha. this is primarily about the nation's premier departments which contributes to national security. it's dangerous that such an important organisation is headed by such corrupt men and women.
In fact your own post is self-contradictory. you talk of other burning national issues and then list only kashmir problems. india has states other than kashmir. you basically seem to be a person with huge mental blocks and lack of modernity as your post stinks of communal hatred. i pity you..

For got sack don't play with sentiments.
Yes muslims were killed but not in nthausands
the number is in hundreds.

And while mentioning this why do you forget mentioning the kashmiri pundits.
If you are talking on religious grounds then remember
in pakistan it is muslim who is killing muslim.
In bangladesh it is muslim who is responsible for the chaos in bangladesh.
they are so sick of them self that they infiltrate in to india. And they make mess in india ( remember they are Bangladeshi and not Indian) and still if some body takes steps against them then the muslim of india start crying about Secularism.

When would the muslims stop this shit.
When they do this their will be no more haterate between hindu and muslim.

And in the riots when muslims are died hindus are also died.

Remember in the train messacar there was no statement from congress or any muslim body about that but when there were repurcurtions then they started crying human rights.

Dear muslim brother please go visit the madarasas of UP and you will find how venom is being filled in the young muslims.

I have studied inn RSS school i have never been told to hate muslim.

I respect islam and i believe it is needed to keep the world peaceful. But the current way it is going is far from what hazarat sahab have preached.

Shame on these current war monger muslims.
HAZARAT MOHAMMAD SAHAB had said that he is the last messanger but i think god have to send one more.

Atul, there are enough discussions happening everywhere on the topics you mention. It is interesting to note that all that you mention have a common thread of Islamic Fundamentalism or Terrorism. It is high time to discuss why the govt. organs of the India have been the object of increasing individual and organised opposition of political, legal and insurgent kinds from within India. How much of this attributable to the misrule of India by its governing bodies and machinery? Do the people who are in the Govt. really superior to the average Indians to decide their future and guide their collective life? Do people join govt. service to serve or to earn money and grab power and position? Obviously the answers to the above are negative. Stories like this one brought out by Rediff help to open our eyes to the flaws within. The sooner we turn an impartial search light within the better.

by Atul Narayan on Aug 24, 2008 07:46 AM  | Hide replies

Dear Rediffmail management - Is this such a big issue that needs to be debated in public and requires their opinions???

Why is it that sometimes you behave like other foolish media sources???

Do you think this is the first time this kind of harrassnment has been done to a woman employee?? This is only because this woman has reported it, not taking it lightly???

Don't you think that as of date more burning issues like suppression of people of Jammu, Anti-India Rallies in Kashmir Valley, Anti-National and Divisive Speeches by Imam of Jama Masjid should be discussed?????

Media is powerful in a democracy and should utilize its power to strenghten the nation and not just use its powers for their political gains by biased reporting or for mere entertainment to earn few more $$$.

Completely agree. Typical of media sensationalism in India, an isolated case is used to form a generalized opinion. As evidenced by the tone of their political articles these days, for some strange reason, Rediff has interpreted it's primary mission as activism on behalf of women and minorities. At the same time, minimal discussions are fostered on tragedies of a far greater scale affecting the nation at large. What is even more absurd is the behaviour of the activist minority of "secular" bloggers on Rediff who preach "tolerance" but brook absolutely no dissent to their text-book liberalism. Evidently, throwing some of the cheapest insults (e.g communal, chauvinist etc.) is their way of fostering a sensible debate.

C'mon RAW, GROW UP, Authorities Wake up to this child's mess. There must be transparency within every dept. Also it's giving away too much information and ideas to general public and also to the people who would use it for their benefit.
U(RAW) can't be so immatured to give away sensitive information to the whole world.
Justice must be done in Nisha's and the Sikh's case and in every case which is not made public.
