Absollute power corrupts absolutely
by mahanty venkata rao on Nov 14, 2007 06:01 PM  | Hide replies

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. This point is proved by CPI marxist party under the leadership of buddhdeb modi. Shame to marxist tenets. Karl Marx himself would have denounced this criminal party of india had he been amidst us. Marxism- Leninism- capitalist thought turned in to social fascism in Bengal. It is time to throw away this anti-people regime in to Bay of Bengal.

wELL SAID mHANTY. This quote is from Socrates and he told this to his pupil Alexander the Great. Even Alexander's empire did not stand the test of time. I draw solace from teh fact that one day the poeople of Bengal will see through teh CPI-M (Crminal Party of India's ) people freindly facade and dump these scoundrels in the Bay of Bengal. That day is not far off when bengal is going to spit on the faces of Buddhadeb, Biman, Shyamal Chakraborty, Jyoti Basu like the Russians do it for Lenin, Stalin
Jai Bangla, Jai Hind!!!

Who has taught the culture of Bandh in India is it BJP or CPM ??? Riot was there in India right from Independence day as the platform on which the partition happened is itself in Question. But Did gandhiji break buses Threw Stones at trains or Burnt Buses during his Styagraha or Bharat Chodo Andolan? So dont compare BJP and CPM

These 'intellectuals-generally Left supporters' are aghast at the 'reforms' being done by the CM. Where will they be after the common man becomes knowledgeable? Nandigram is just a ruse !!

If the state Govt support rape/killing of villagers , it can not be accepted at any cost.
even if the current govt supported IT /Industry , we can not allow them to run Gunda Raj else our next generation will suffer.
Please note any one of us can face the gunda raj in future if we do not protest.

Nandigram : Let somebody out there put the fire out!
by mohasin khan on Nov 14, 2007 05:56 PM  | Hide replies

Once I felt nice to hear the name ;Nandigram;where one of my cosin sister got married.I had a great desire to see the place. Her husband ; in the meanwhile passed away; and with that I had almost forgotten Nandigram; until the other day I heard the Tatas planning to start a factory in Nandigram. Eversince then Nandigram has been in the news. I pity the people of Nandigram and people living in nearby areas.Oh! What the hell is going on there?Even our great CM Buddha Deb Bhattacharya ; ex CM Jyoti Basu and firebrand
Mamata Bannerji could not put out the fires.
And the fire is raging day by day.It is now almost difficult to know who is fighting whom?
Will somebody out there care to solve the issue?
I would request our ex PresidentDr. A.P.J.Kalam Azad Saheb to find some time and try to diffuse the issue; and let the people; man, women and children of Nandigram; dream and dream to bring back Nandigram to a peaceful and beautuful place;a place about which our great Poet;Nobel Laurette Rabindra Nath Tagore dreamtin the poem,Gitanjali:
"Where the mind is free;
and the head held high;
into that country ,O my God !
Let my country (here Nandigram)awake.
=Mohsin Ali Khan
(presently : in Doha;Qatar)

Bengali Intelectuals are reactive
by mailme alladin on Nov 14, 2007 05:54 PM  | Hide replies

Bengali intelectuals (writers, screen personalities, artist, sports personalities, press people) don't have any proactiveness. Nandigram violence continued for last one year, there were no intelectual to protest against it proactively.

Now there is no point of sheding tear after so many lives are gone. If there were sheding tears earlier, then these many lives could be saved.

May be .. but the common people who walked on the streets of calcutta today were not brought with a packet of Biriyani and Rs 50 per head. Atleast the "cheap publicity" showed that still for some cause, common man have their voice

It is not the intellectuals' job nor the common public's! When elected government acts/behaves like animals or cannibals then only raised the mass objection and then they get furious to do something out of their limited strength!

Nandi gram
by SUJOY BHATTACHARYA on Nov 14, 2007 05:51 PM  | Hide replies

What happened in Nandigram since begininng is not at all democratic. Democracy means verdict of people. When you disrespect the verdict of people obviously you are violating democracy. The point is that the LEFT Front, who are so-called fighters (?)for the poor and downtrodden and against the multinatonal forces, who according to them are blot on the country's economy, can resort to such methods and Mr. P. Karat openly defending the same. The violence at the Gurgaon, Haryana(at HONDA factory) is still fresh in our minds and at that point of time may LF netas visited and banged the state govt. and central govt for the action so taken,i.e. ruthless police lathi charge on protestors, but how can they resort to same thing i.e. violence for capture of Nandigram? Moreover, I fail to understand who they are(Left Front) to capture a village,neither they are from armed forces nor Nandigram is out of the India. Something strange isn't it?
