News

The media these days are behaving in an irresponsible manner. Whether it is reporting on issues like this on any other. I believe there is a strong resentment following across all quarters who believe that the media is not playing the part they should be in this society. The quality of news has deteriorated. TV channels and print media follow a story which viewers are no more bothered of the outcome. There is a clear bias against certain section of the political parties or business or even societies. India is a large country and serious news go unreported whereas irrelevant and unwanted news are opened up. For example happened to watch a news item, now even difficult to recall the channel where it reported wife beating case by a person. The wife had complained to the nearest ps. The media could have carried a verbal news item but instead followed the handcuffed man all around the ps. Firstly is this the only case. Is this not something to be left to the ps and women organisations to take this up for a reconciliation proceedings with the family. Did they report the full story ? No not at all. I am sure the ego of the guy will drive on with more hatred because of the media coverage. More differences are added in the couple's relationship now. I really don't know if the wife really wanted all this.

Just to talk about the above news item is full of holes.. It is not even fit for the media to report these items at all. They should investigate provide concrete evidence and then come up with such news items. They are de moralising the forces by reporting such items and this is what the enemy wants. They are fully aware of the irresponsible media in India and their reporting. I would rather put it as an anti-national activity. When we mean free and fair, responsibility comes through along with it. Rediff should atleast shy from printing these items. Look at the comments below and you will realise that the reader's understand correctly..

Both The Media and That Pakistani Joker are out of their minds !!!
Such allegations are malicious and nonsense. I find it difficult to digest, why Indian media is playing into the hands of that Paki Joker.

You have aptly put things in perspective. 'Freedom of speech / press' should be changed to 'Freedom of speech / press with Responsibility'.
I think one core thing missing from most of Indian News Organizations (be it print / electronic / TV) is 'moral values' and ethics. Instead of becoming the channels to cleanse the society of evil, they are becoming conduits to propagate and perpetuate societal evil.
Has these idiots even once thought what would go through the ailing Hero of Indian Army. If they have some concrete evidance to justify these claims, then it makes sense. But giving coverage to a baseless claim is shameful.

Some hidden political agenda of this guy
by Sunil Kumar on May 08, 2007 07:20 AM  | Hide replies

I think this guy wants to make a place in the politics of Pakistan. These days it requires that people to remember your face, be it for good or bad, and you are sure to win the elections. The people fail to remember how this person came to limelight. They just think he must be a famous and worthy guy, else why he was shown in the TV channels for so long, and they vote for him.

He wants to take advantage of the publicity he would get through the N number of channels across the world and come to limelight, that is all. The media should recognize this and desist from giving importance to such low-minded people.

How could one believe that the plan was sold. It could have been given some importance had Manekshaw been staying in a different country altogether, after all his and his family's life was also at stake if the enemy succeeded in winning the war against our country.

War Plans for Sale
by kumar on May 08, 2007 07:03 AM  | Hide replies

I never thought that Pakistani military establishment was so bad that it cant win a war after having the enemy's war plan. So what kind of fools are these guys? I doubt if these guys can win with the enemy's battle tanks too on their side. Like I always say if Prithviraj chauhan had won the game would have been different....

Lets look at it this way - double benefit!
1. He sells them the plan. He makes money -money inflow into india. So what if one person enjoyed it..still an indian got to ear more!
2. We still win the war..I mean what kind of idiots would pay millions to buy a plan and still bite dust?
3. Why shouldnt we sell more of these war plans? I think after IT..this will be a good business.
4. psst..what makes anyone think that he could not have sold a totally crap plan to mislead em?
