Life Changing Speech
by ashok mela on Jan 27, 2007 05:33 PM

This kind of speeches are those which can change the thought pattern of a reader especiallhy Young readers. Our young generations needs direction and this kind of speeches can serve the purpose. Mr. President is a born leader and motivator. I like the way he started the speech with the postive achievements of our fellow citizens. He is one of the best first citizen that India had.

The speech touched different sensitive things that needs to be change including our political system. Of those the most sensitive being the caste-system. This is something which needs most attention especially from the Youth. We, as citizen of this country should pledge that we will never fall in the trap of this devil. There should also be done by the Government or Your Highness to reduce the importance of caste-system. Eg:- In Schools, why should the caste of the student be asked or Why is it mandatory? There should be an option say None of the above or Indian - which a person can opt if he is not interested in the caste system. No school or College name, should have caste name in any form attached to it.

Lets all have the courage to think differently and grow as an Nation.

Jai Hind

An update from abroad
by Jitesh Butala on Jan 27, 2007 11:40 AM  | Hide replies

Dear Dr. Kalam,

This is something that I have begun to realise in the past few years and I am really proud of it. I have seen a huge chunk of my generation come here to the USA or to other parts of the world in quest of various goals ranging from further education, on-site employment to earning money. But there is a really nice trend going on currently. I have had atleast 2 of my close friends and my sister return back to India because they wanted to do something for India rather than languish here and work for some multi-national company. They have gone back and have started working in places like NCL, Pune (my sister) or have started up their own business. I plan to follow suit (just waiting to earn all the money back that I had invested in this country and bring it back to MY country).

I have read a few of your previous speeches and they have always moved me to tears. Some people might call it being impractical or even plain stupid, but I firmly believe that it is each and every person's duty to your country to serve it as much as possible. Not everyone can join the armed forces or get an idea which would fetch the person and the country a billion Rupees, but at the least, all of us must try our best. This is generally the only thing that I ask God every morning... let me do my best in everything.

My moto for life is "Failure is NEVER an option". I had heard the quote "Failure is not an option" somewhere and it just stuck in my mind. I just thought that the NEVER is what makes it reach the level that it can become one's life moto. I have always given everything that is possible in anything that I attempt be it sports or studies or at work. I am hoping that every person in India can also do the same and this would be our path to greatness as a whole. Teamwork is the only way that we can become the best that we possibly can.

I salute each and every person of TEAM INDIA.

A Great Message to the Nation By a Great Person!
by C Babu on Jan 26, 2007 08:05 PM

Dear Sir,
My hearty wishes to you on this 58 th Republic Day. Though I haven't read your above message completely, I reckon that it should a great message to our Nation. I am currently staying in the UK (on my job purpose) and in the free time I'm reading your book "Ignited Minds". I take this opportunity to say many thanks for giving such a book to the Youth like me and the whole nation. I really can't express my emotions while reading that book. Keeping those words in my mind, I should say the above message would be one of your greatest messages ever given to the Nation.

I wish everyone in our country should receive/see your message/vision and think where our country is heading to. Your ideas & work towards the i) mass upliftment, ii)eradication of all problems (Population,Pollution,Corruption,Crime etc) by identifying the root causes, iii)various missions for the society growth (PURA), iv) institutions for the improvement in Science & technology are really invaluable.

I feel everyone in our country is busy with their own personal world (being more self oriented) and least bother about their neibours and thus the Nation. Everyone started cursing the policians and others but who elected those politicians. Its we, are giving a chance to others for our own destruction. I strongly believe that now the time has come where Youth should become politicians with more positive attitude and ideas which are currently being used in the IT industry which is equally useful & important.

I realized now that my life is not certainly meant for the IT services, I'm thinking that I should do something good for my country & my people who really need my services. I'm planning to spend the rest of my life towards our Nation's growth and contribute as much as I can. I would like to use my experience, my learning during the days of my education & profession, for the upliftment of the masses and try my best to let people know what is happening in the other world and where we are and what we need to do.

Everyone's life should need a change now. Its time to think and act. Various youth organisations/missions should be formed and with a collective effort, we should work towards a common problem until we succeed or even better die during the journey.

We are really proud to have a such person like you amongst us. Now, I truly feel that the message to complete a task should be given by people like you and we (youth) should work towards it and acheive it.

We should "Arise, Awake & Stop not Until we prove ourselves that we are the BEST".
Be a Change Yourself first, before you want to change someone/something.

Wish you A Happy Republic Day! and a big Salute to you SIR!!!

Jai Hind!!!

President's Republic Day speech
by Vas on Jan 26, 2007 07:54 PM  | Hide replies

Very nice warm, eloquent and inspiring speech. I wish (hey, its OK to wish for the seemingly absurd, isn't it?) President Kalam could be India's President AND PM. It is a pity that Indias have elected the incompetent, hostile, anti-India ManMohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi to 'rule' (and destroy) this nation, instead of this wise, gentle man. He would have unified the entire country in no time had he been given the full reign. He shows wisdom, tolerance, gentleness, understanding, and pride in India's glorious heritage, and symbolizes all that is wonderful and special about India. On this day, one can only wish India and Indians a very long, prosperous, peaceful, and free life.

Please go through the constitution of India that single person cannot hold the post of President and PM of this country. He has not taught you to abuse any one but he taught you the way. Negetive thinking fellows like you only leading the country to dogs

What are you rambling on about? I clearly mentioned that wanting Prez Abdul Kalam also as the PM is a 'seemingly absurd' WISH. Which part of that sentence did you NOT understand?? I reiterate - It was wishful thinking, nothing more! Clear?

As for the rest of your ranting - I can't make sense of it, primarily because you are not clear about what you want to say. Or are you just bothered that there are people who appreciate and respect Dr. Abdul Kalam far more than your 'goddess' Sonia Gandhi and her stooge ManMohan Singh?? Well, dah! The last time I checked, India was a democratic country with freedom of speech and expression. I (and millions of other Indians) have no wish to be enslaved and ruled by corrupt politicians. People like YOU are the reason why India is in deep trouble, with rampant corruption, poverty, ehtnic divisions, conflicts, terrorism, etc. - all the result of excessive and blind worship of political leaders from the common man (YOU). Get a spine!

vision is clear but path is vague
by santosh singh on Jan 26, 2007 03:49 PM

First of all salute to our greatest president of india. I don't know how can I show my grestest respect for our beloved president.

vision is supreme but question is how it will come into action. there are two options. first, start the process from top of the sytem and implement it methodologically by careful planning and in each department of system. this is fast approach and if it get implemented in this way then definetely india will achieve its vision by 2020. But considering current state of corruption, lack of ethics and vision and lack of core knowledge of our political system it is impossible to implement in this way.

second option is don't start from top of the system. let the good ppl here and there to start their own process. it is too long process. it can also work in long run but if our own system hinders those juvenile and sporadic process then how can this vision be ever come into action. there is definetely no future.

First and foremost thing is remove those hindrance. And in india corrupt executive system is hindrance to all sort of development. u can argue that corruption is in other sector too. but corruption in all sector exist only bcoz there is corruption in executive system. if our executive become free from corruption then all sort of corruption can be eliminated within months. it is the root of everything and without improving it nothing significant can be done.

So our first task is to how to improve india executive, legislature and judiciary system. again these three have a single root called politics. politicians become member of executive and legislature and member of executive and legislature appoint judiciary. so root of all problems lies in corrupt political system. If we can make it clean then half of the vision is complete.

So question reduces to how to improve our political system. by incouraging youths to enter in political system? May be but not a feasible solution. Today not a single ppl having good ideology will want to enter in flood of corruption. For such ppl it is easy to get educated, start enterprenarship, found organization but very difficult to enter in political system. even if he dares to enter he won't survive. bcoz in order to survive in politics u need people vote. and majority of voters cast their vote based on petty things like cast, creed etc. majority of them are not literate enough to distinguish between right and wrong. Lets take an example. A honest and intellect candiate go to public and say that I have great plan of development in electricity areas, I will set up so so power plants and so on. other inveterate politician say that I will provide elctricity free of cost. tell me who will won the election. the politician who promises to give electricity free of cost, although he is making fool every body. even if he provide free electricity for sometime after election its not the permanent solution. but ppl will go for such politicians bcoz they are not literate enough. today there is no scope of good person in politics. he won't earn ppl support. with current situation I don't think by encouraging youth to join politics can help in anyway. also nobody want to spoil his career. very few will prefer country development at the cost of his career or his life. the feasible solution is country development alongwith personal development. that's why ppl who want to help country grow prefer career like engineering, medical, business, management but not politics. so this is definetely not a solution.

only solution is change the constitution in such a way so that it facilitate entrance of good ppl in politics and minister post. but definetely this is not going to happen.

I expect any feasible solution from our respected president.
