Timely One

No doubt, it is a wonderful Interview. When it comes to morality, the question is where do we start? Ideally it should start with the leaders, but then is it possible? The next option is to start with children. But then even for that you need elders who has it and believe in it! Looks like a vicious circle! The only solace is tye whole world is that way!It would be great if rediff could form a forum wherein like minded people could exchange their views

Morality and Ethics????????????????????????? Forgotten........
by Ananthram Sundarababu on Feb 02, 2007 07:08 PM

General Thapan has pointed a right thing in India. I always had felt that morality is disappearing in India even from the minutest of levels. Morality @ TOP has disappeared and I am seeing it disappearing everywhere. Morality and Ethics???????????????????????

Finally, something sensible to read
by ramesh g on Feb 02, 2007 07:05 PM  | Hide replies

this article comes as a breath of fresh air to readers who unfortunately have to put up with trash in most websites - from Ash/Abhishek, shilpa shetty to God knows who in politics etc...

the point is as a nation, our mental framework is regressing. So much that we can only talk about the glorious Indian tradition (we don't get to experience it anyway)....

articles such as these are thought provoking and the need of the hour.

The General's comments on the 2 wars are very accurate. I'd say, in the same breath, let Kashmiris decide if they want to stay with us or join someone else. rather than shed human lives and resources, let's make this country a livable place. Our record as an independent country is too bloody and i guess its time we give peace a chance.

We conducted elections in presence of UN and we
got success. There is an elected Govt.
What else you want?

an eye opener
by khalid naveed on Feb 02, 2007 06:57 PM

Thanks rediff to open our eyes on a subject we all Indian s should have known but we didnt.I solute the nationalism and courrrage of the general to be brave enough to bring the truth to us.I agree with the great man that the politicians have used the country before and using it still now for their own good. Now we all Indians should stand together to fight against such enemies within, and we should all respect and show to our coming generations about how bravely our forces have fought.I deeply think and believe that this subject should be included in school history books in place of all the present rubbish.
