Media has a way of making things sensational.
I say the title of this article should be 'When the passenger jets came in the way of AGNI III' . Period.

the way of reporting makes this news sensational....always before such tests all the concerned airlines are informed well in advance....so it doesnt seem to big an event...n its the fault of the pilot if he entered in no flying zone

If you ever have a chance to go to an Air Show, you know
by on Apr 13, 2007 10:41 PM

If you ever have a chance to go to an Air Show, you know the facts. People will thrilled to see that they will collide, but they will be 1/2 km apart. These are the same situation.
My son in his childhood telling an airplane going very low, but it is 1 km apart after seeing the Airplane really in Airport. So, un-necessary comments about missile is not welcomeable.

Now that we have Agni, why dont we just test-fire one over Indonesia??

That will clamp them up...

We didn't tell another country to fly over Japan & tell japan that why are you crying this much.
We are a responsible country, no necessity for that.

Another example of India soft nature

The Agni test was announced in advance, anyone with internet can know about them, But the relaity is Air-India is very unprofessional and so is Garuda, these airlines are not masters of their own game, they are like kids before American airline companies, here in US, airlines coo-operate with the military on daily basis, hundreds of flights are re-routed in advance as the specific airspace is reserved of military, it absolutely normal here!! Then why did this happen with AI and Garuda? 'cause they don't care much about India. People in India should realize that outside of India, India does not have much respect, I realized this after working in south east asia and US. Its very unfortunate that our country's government is very weak, for example Hindi, Bengali and Telgu which are among the biggest languages in the whole world are still not UN languages while smaller languages like Arabian, french, german are! May God save our country from its politicians!

It is an ICAO( Intl Civil Aviation Org) understanding that whenever air space is closed to civillian traffic for any duration a NOTAM( Notice to Airmen) is to be issued
In this case India did not issue a NOTAM in advance as is manditory.
Speaks poorly of our Defence ministry for not informing the Aviation ministry.
BTW even here in US NOTAMs are issued whenever air space is closed, and is followed meticulously, else there will be a major disaster, since any given time there are well over 3000 aircrafts in the US skies.

Govt. of India has said that NOTAM was issued a week in advance with detailed flight plans inlcuded and were also sent to Jakarta! Still the Indonesians have the balls to critizise us! It clearly means that they care very little about India's military.

There are thousands planes roaming around world at any time.
by on Apr 13, 2007 08:42 PM

There are thousands planes roaming around world at any time. If that is the case, no countries would have succeed in testing missiles.
Note some countries tested ICBM & other missiles hundreds or even thousand times into the air more than the distance of Agni III. They also might have come across the situations like that, thats why these kind of Rockets were launched with very precautions & with lot of delays to take into security of domestic, civilian planes. If any inconvenience to any others, we are sorry.

Its very good opportunity for UPA Govt. to fell on the feet of Indonesian Govt. , clean its feet, and beg for the pardon. And now is the crucial election time in UP also.
May be UPA will consider scraping the Indian missile program itself :-)
