OBC Reservations

Sir,

I am deadly sick with this entire country, the opponants of reservations are lunatics on loose, for reason's sake do they have the proper defacto knowledge of the origin and dire necessity of reservations?

My only plight is that those who prattle over the issue shoould have some knowledge of the 'Socio-Political tool formulated by the framers of Constitution to fight the endemic socio-economic-cultural and psychological inequilatiy, oddities and bizzare condition of majority of our fellowmen.

Where the framers of the Constitution and its president none less than Honb'le Rajendra Prasad, Pt. Jawahar lal were insane?

Please read the deliberations on the article 340 and then omit the dirt......

Sincerley yours in the interest of motherland

Dear Mr. Shambarkar,
Your argument falls on its own weight. If you look at the constitution, the reservation was provided as a TEMPORARY reprieve and NOT as a permanent way to short circuit everything good. And do you think that by coming through reserved seats, the candidates earn respect and recognition??? There must be better ways for social upliftment, more based on income of a person than his birth. Isn't reservation a discrimination on the basis of birth???

No, they were not insane. Which is why they kept reservations limited to a few years. The world has changed now. Open your eyes and mind.

i completely oppose reservation. why uphold caste system in place of intelligence.

what about those students who study hard and don't get seats in professional colleges and on the other hand some steal it by waving SC/ST/OBC certificates.

i don't think those people are incompetant. give them a change to compete.

treat every one EQUAL.

Yes. they were either insane or they had not thought proponents would stoop to such level. constitution is not something written down from God. Humans have written it. So it is nothing surprising if its wrong!!

Mr. Shambharkar,

I imagine that you copied verbatim the phrase - "Socio-Political tool formulated by the framers of Constitution to fight the endemic socio-economic-cultural and psychological inequilatiy, oddities and bizzare condition of majority of our fellowmen" - from some source. I was just wondering whether you even understand what the phrase means and how it applies in the context of a modern India. I could not find even one grammatically correct sentence in your whole posting - leave alone a trace of logic or reason. Do not quote historical examples if you do not know them precisely or if you are incapable of interpreting them in any sensible way.

Necessity for reservations - I bet you are beating the pro-reservation drums since you have at some point in your career been a beneficiary of reservations and are currently holding some position with responsibilities quite beyond your competence level while people who are way more capable and skilled than you are might be banging their fists on the doors of some employment exchange - therein manifests the case for NO reservations.

Looks like you are making use of it! That's why you don't feel anything wrong with it. Reservation should be used to for upliftment of the "under previlidged" only up to a certain level, say at the level of local college in case of educational institutes and upto the level of Class 4 employees for government jobs. People should rise above that based purely on their talent and expertise. I think premiere institutes like AIIMS, IITs and IIMs should be kept isolated from this evil

by shan on May 08, 2006 03:01 PM

When the whole world is comming closer to each other. When white and blacks are marching together. our great minister trying to divide the country on the basis of caste. For his personal benefit of comming to power other time also on the basis of castism. His policy is same as that of britishers divide n rule.He is not calculating the cloud of danger and hatered which would be on our country.Again many students will do sucides and burn themselves as they did at the time of mandal. But, who cares for them only thing is that he wants this chair again by dividing nation on term of caste. He is posing great danger to our elite educational institutes. He should be imediately sacked from the minsitry and should be reffered to some good hospital for check up. He should be asked that what he has done till this time for improving education. He is creating controversy and wasting students and whole nations time and energy.Mr. Singh i pleade in front of you that don't ruin are nation.Go and sit at your home. Don't try to follow divide n rule.

Reservation for OBC
by Sanjiv Saraswati on May 08, 2006 02:31 PM

Sir,
Reservaton is a political tool being used by polititions without ideas, who want to grab/retain power at any cost.
The protagonist of reservation, don't have any sincereity towards their cause. Though they would advocate the cause of reservation in professional colleges, they would never consult a doctor who has come through reservation channel. Mr. V.P.Singh, who brought the country to the point of civil war by starting Mandalism, imediately moved towards western countries for his treatment. How many of our politicians (including those from the Community enjoying reservation) prefer to take advice from the professionals who have acquired their degree through reserved quota.I would suggest these leaders to give recognition to the professionals ( through reserved quota) by always taking their professional services. That will be a definite step towards social justice. Depriving meritorious students from their genuine rights is a grave social injustice. In case such politicians don't refrain from playing these dirty games, professionals from unreserved quota should stop providing service to them and they should be left at the mercy of professionals from reserved quota.

reservation & education
by Dr.R.S.Thakur on May 08, 2006 02:24 PM

Education empowers individuals. Can be dispensed through teaching shops having sole commercial motto? Education is imparted through Institutions of excellence, dedicated Faculty & facilities. Both Government & private players lack essential components barring a few, which are targetted now. Deemed to be Universitis are doing absolute harm to standard of education. When selecting on merit the input is good & out put bound to be the best if Faculty & facilities are better. Meritless input is burden on the Institution and once admitted they will be spoiling the educational environment, obtaining degree by hook or by crook and diminish the repute of Institutions of Excellence within no time. A Nation should ensure that level of education is par excellence, look into the basic defects in the system, responsible for the rural & urban divide. Government must endeavour to raise standard of Schools, ensure uniformity in syllabi, examination & evaluation and equal opportunity to all Indian children rather than appeasing nondeserving ones at the cost of meritorious.Reservation and get admission, degree but not knowledge, expertise and competence. India is already crumbling due to reservation.

Integrity of education
by Poornima on May 08, 2006 02:23 PM

Only God should come down to help Indian education. Todays students must realise that they all are equal. If students realise themselves, and only if backward community students themselves give hands with others, this situation can change. Politics is splitting the integrity of the country of which all of us were proud of... From now on it will only be in history- our pride for the intergrity.
