Any terroristic activity needs to be distroyed. That to being indian and being target of so much terror activity, we (Tamilian, Malayali, Kannadiga, Gulty or Bihar or any Indian) should never support terroristic activity. A good write-up. Don't support any of these people from our land and if you think they are our brothers tell them to be use Gandhism. Try to take up their cause in international forum.

Suman , I believe you do not have sufficient knowledge of the Sri Lankan crisis. The Tamils indeed did try all peaceful methods to over come oppression . But the sinhalese didnt respect non violent methods and mistook it for a sign of weakness . And only then the militant factions started over taking the moderates .
IT IS OUR ENEMIES WHO DECIDE WHAT KIND OF WEAPON WE CHOOSE TO USE AGAINST THEM . Sinhalese decided that they will get away with violence and the LTTE is what they have got for that in return .

Suman bhiaa... dont be so smart or dont show ur immaturity in world knowledge. Ealem war (after 1980s)and LTTE's fightings have been forced to take guns and bombs by your beloved Sinhalese. Sri Lankan Tamils have not statrted to take the gun in first day of their struggle started in early 1930s. They followed all Ahimsa means to pursuade the Sri Lnakan governemnet; they took the matter to the world arena; they are genuine people struggled a lot to get theier rights. Nothing happened positively to them. Contrarily, Sri Lankan government and its army destroyed their basic infrastructure like houses, schools and colleges. Tamil University Libraray in Jaffana was set fire and destroyed in front of many students. Many Tamil women were raped in front of thier husbands, children, father. Who will tolerate all these things. Will U tolerate if your sister/mother/wife is raped by others when they fight for thier right. Will U tolerate if your proprties were appropriated by others. Will U follow Gandhian way if you are tortured by inhumane ways. Sri Lankan Tamils are native people of Sri Lanka. Many generations of Tamils have been transcended in this land with their typical Tamil Language.
It's a shame for Rediff to allow such articles without any facts, looking at this article Raman doesnot know the ground realities and ABCs of Srilankan Tamil issue. I hope Raman will stop writing such stupid articles like this. The fact is LTTE cannot be destroyed by any means, you need to look at a strategical point of view, which should help both India and Srilanka as well as definitely trying to save Tamils in Srilanka. Any kind of action without looking at the above is set to fail.
Raman you better grow up and do some home work before writing articles like this. You almost became a spokesperson for JVP, not even SriLankan govt can think like this. Shame on you Raman. Try reading about Human rights first.
I believe Rediff should have someone to oversee/edit the articles before they get published. This will reduce the trash.
I think Raman should learn journalism. The writer should be an eye opener not like this kind of attitude. I think just he writes for money. It looks like he will sell himself for money.
There is only one country in the world has capacity to watch own people death which is India. You know why? Because there are more Ramans in India. These guys are typical text book. They think they are broad minded. But they dont have depth on it. Our leaders and writers are Katta panchayatu leaders. They dont have vision. Ms Indira Gandhi has started this operation with Vision which is screwed by stupid leaders and writers like Raman.

I have seen a lot of personal attacks on Mr.Raman in this forum ,which I think is not appropriate. He has been an additional Secretary at Cabinet Secretariat, Govt. of India and is a qualified man to write an article like this .But that doesnt mean we have to agree with him , on the other hand I believe we must express our opinions in a dignified way ,after all he is an elder person and our eternal Tamil culture advises to treat our elders always with respect .
Though I hate to say this , nothing but a variation of the two nation theory that split our nation will work Sri Lanka .The lion and the tiger can never live in peace in a single jungle and the only road map to peace is the formation of two separate countries from Sri Lanka .
And when if we indeed embark on an adventure based on your puerile goal of eliminating the LTTE , the tide is sure to turn and you can expect mass unrest in Tamil Nadu . The Tamil society is very fraternal and we are sure to have some trouble in the Tamil land. we have enough on our hands fighting in Kashmir and the North East . For Ivory tower experts like you what does a loss of life on the streets of chennai or rameswaram would mean . I guess nothing compared to your fifteen minutes of fame .
And remember this, the Tamils of the island will unite under a single banner to fight us if we were to send our jawans there . Prabhakaran and Karuna will join hands again ,if we send a new version of IPKF and we will find dead Indian soldiers with burning rubber tires again in the streets of Jaffna and Vavuniya and we will be fighting the LTTE in the dense forests . We are not a huge military and economic power like United States of America to spend billions for years in fighting enemies on foreign land .
Dear Mr.Raman , Whatever your feelings may be towards the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam , I do not understand the reason why you would like to see the Indian army in a foreign soil/sea pursuing a group which posed no threat to its sovereignity and in support of a government susceptible to racist/religio fascist influences .The last time we went on a pleasure trip to the island because of ludicrous ideas propagated by arm chair imbeciles like you , we lost thousands of men for no reason and were kicked out disgracefuly by the same government that invited us . I as an Indian would not like to see my jawans die fighting an entity that doesnt present a clear and present danger to the Indian nation.
It was the colossal foregin policy mistakes by successive Indian governments that nurtured the LTTE and then made it turn against itself leading to asssassinate Mr. Rajiv Gandhi in 1991 . The LTTE does not have a mass public base now in Tamil nadu for the sole reason that it dared to assassinate the then Prime minister of India .
Before talking about LTTE; He should talk about tamil refugee, Who they are citizens of Srilanka and they feel they dont have peaceful life and no guarantee of their life from their own govt militants. Last week one tamil daily news paper posted picture of tamil family body.They didnt even leave 2 year old baby to live. Rest of tamilian in lanka surviving their only because of tamil militants but still that entire generations are surviving without medical , electric, good schools etc. You are sitting in air conditioned room and say we need to destroy LTTE.
Final question for raman. Why tamil militants are fighting ? how and why these organizations created.
How many times India vs lanka went peaceful agreement and which one they committed from 1952.
If you dont know any past history of Lankan govt behavior. Please gothough past 50 years of news and then come to conclusion about our neighbor country problem.
