Sania and the dress code
by Dr Mallik on Sep 19, 2005 05:33 AM

Hi,
Aren't the energies of people who condemn the dress code of Sania better spent over the other area ie. the Bollywood and other "woods", where skimpily clad muslim girls titillate the millions of fans eg. Katrina kaif.
What do you say?
Mallik

Sir,
It is an warrented fatwa regarding the dresscode. The moulavi"sand fundamentalists must rethink twice when they release fatwas. There are somany musims very religious praying 5 times and leading a pious life. You can see the filmstars, merchantsand musicians and sanskrit scholers who in the eye of these moulavis and fundamentalists breaking the codes of dress , behaviour and other muslim religious ethiks.the hue and cry arises in most cases is only pertaining to women and the defence should come from with in themselves first and then only muslim women can lead a life in eqalitywith men

Sania Dress Code.
by Abey on Sep 18, 2005 09:41 PM

if sania mirza dress code is vulgar , where were these maulvis and supporters of these fatwas when sania started taking tennis lessons. were she wearing burqa when she started her tennis lessons.

if islam is the religion of equality and peace, why do these people keep on issuing fatwas for small issues like dress code. Fatwas like these show the double standards which exists in the religion.

Aby

I would like to express my regrats over this issue being made this much hype and also for ones dress code!
I think no one has the right to comment on ones dress ,perticularly of the people who are in a responsible situation.

sania mirza s dress code

Dear friend , I strongly condemn the dress code of sania mirza , being a muslim lady she should not have put on her such dress . Islam is a religion of sacrifice , at any point of time we should be ready to sacrifice our lives, wealth, fame etc in the path of Allah, not like sania mirza , who for the sake of sports , for fame can go down to the extent of wearing such dress, the biggest treasure of an women is her chastity and purdah should be voluntary by fear of Allah not through force.Sania might be bringing laurels to the country but she is a shame to muslims.

dear Aatiq,
Sania is working hard and winning, for the country. Not an idle big mouth. I wonder what you have achieved in the way of Allah & Islam and who knows you.
Or probably you don't know what "Country" means.I am ashamed you are an Indian.
The value of your condemnation is two paisa worth of nuisance.

so athiq would you give up your career for a code ? Do it first and then ask others for sacrifice. and why do just women have to make this sacrifice and be chaste ? Why is their no compulsion on chastity for males in islam ?

One little nail

I see this as just one little lever. Give up on your dress, Sania, and you (and the nation) will soon be overwhelmed with other friendly "suggestions" from all quarters. Perhaps you should wear black all over. No matching stockings. Perhaps you really should wear a burkha (even a skin tight one). And gloves would be just the thing.

And if you did all this, Sania, you would win the love of God and the people of Islam. You will lose a small thing in comparison, your childhood dream of being among the greatest tennis players ever.

TVR is a fool, a damned fool. By giving the maulvi even an inch, he compromises the position of all free thinkers. There are situations when you must stand in the shoes of the opposing camp and begin to understand their point of view. This is not such a time or situation; call their bluff now! Common sense rejects any rapprochement with these medieval values and sense of duty. Morality and social mores are a personal choice; to hell with busybodies who will nose their way into other people's affairs, even in the guise of religion (whether of Hinduism or Islam). If anything wants rapid reformation, it is this. Pray, let us live our lives in peace!
