PM's Qualification
by Nagesh Nanda on May 22, 2004 03:43 PM

It is really nice to know that our new PM is highly qualified, & we hope that Dr. Manmohan Sigh will try to keep the same criteria while allocating the ministries to MPs.

I think more qualification is not necessary only graduate level of any discipline is enough. It Is not necessary high qualified will be success in politics. He will know ground level problem, he will be fully faithful with our country, like Atal bihari ji

Manmohan Singh Should do well but..............................
by Snehendu Das on May 22, 2004 11:55 AM

As the next Prime-minister of India,Dr Singh should do well. But,I differ in the opinion that only highly qualified someone can fit the position of Prime-minister.That may be one criteria, but understanding the political climate and situation of the country as well as a leader like personality is essential.

I dont want to argue further about the most deserving candidate of the moment, but believe that Dr Singh is more suitable solely for the post of Finance Minister.

Qualification of our PM
by Subrata Basu on May 22, 2004 11:46 AM

Thanks to rediff for bringing the qualifications of our EX and would be PMs to public. It is painful to know that two of our ex PMs were not even graduate. According to me the constitution needs to be changed in respect to the Qualification of the MPs, PM and President. But again I feel its a pretty tough job as most of the MP's are undergraduate. But this is high time things needs to change. But again I do not know how to change it. Presently an awareness needs to be created for the same as our first step towards a shining India.

Eductation or qualification of PMs
by Sunil Shenoy on May 22, 2004 11:40 AM

You have given the Qualification of some of our Prime Ministers. Well though Mr. Lal Bahadur Sastrhi left his educaction at the age of 16 he has left a good image of himself as a good PM. Further Mr. Nehru and Mrs. Indra Gandhi also were in their good elements when they were ruling. But will you come out with present situation wherein India is facing unemployment though poverty has been Indias high agenda of all times. And further more the rising cost of living and unemployement to even well educated people has left the youths completly demoralised. What is Mr. Sing going to do about this if not he can bring rains for the poor farmers and if not he can reduce the prices of petrolium products & LPG.

Why not add something about our Presidents also. Out present presidet is a scientist. What are the changes India has gained after he took over this post.

Why do not you mention some more positive news in your columns about Indias progess. We see only negetive news in the Newspaper article more than the positive.

Hope things changes for the younger generation.

PM's Qualification
by Louis Shadrach on May 22, 2004 11:23 AM

While it is nice to have PM's who are Post Graduates and MBA we should realise that one achieves these qaulifications only if there is basic education made available to all our masses and then they should be able to afford these degrees later. This can be easily done by avoiding big ads like India Shining and Feel Good Factor and other Achievments which people are not interested.
