Long live Sonia...Long live Congress!

Simply put, your analysis of Sonia's decions is uncontestable and true, though critcs may say millions of things! Sonia is the Lady of Hour...and Lady of the days ahead !

And a word of advice for Shusma Swaraj, please don't do the politics of "Double Standards". You could not do and acheive in last two decades of your political career what Sonia Gandhi has done. She has outclassed all the BJP and NDA pliticians by her "Brahmastra"

Long live Sonia...Long live Congress!

Why is Dr,Singh Sonia's choice?
by Madhabi on May 19, 2004 11:56 PM

The message is clearly written on the wall.Sonia is a machiavellian politician and by stepping down or refusing the mantle of pm ship she has merely started a masked goverment with an Indian front...this will not only pacify the Indian middle class but will also make the BJP rethink their lines of offence. The general feeling within the urban literate mass was that of shock and despair when Sonia took the polls by storm. With M.M.Singh in the front line she has strengthened the Congress arm and tenure. But has she made a tactical blunder in the long run as Singh is no spaghetti fed yes man that Sonia expects him to be while she controls the master strings.

sonia's choice
by ln vogeti on May 19, 2004 10:43 PM

My god, why do u all think that sonia has renunciated her
position, why give her the glory which she doesn't deserve?
she refused the most coveted post b'coz she doesn't fit the
credentials, as a foreigner. i think we must be the only
country who under the guise of being secular argue the
point that even a foreigner can become a p.m. but
remember being secular means we can practice all
religions and she wasn't denied b'coz of her religion.

Its difficult to find even a single point with which I would differ from the article and have reached almost the same conclusions that you draw, though not with that much interlinkages.
Great work.

Dr.santhi Bushan
wonderful analysis
by Dr.santhi Bushan on May 19, 2004 10:03 PM

wonderful analysis and good coverage, sonia gandhi with one master stroke has taken the moral high ground without relinquishing the ground realities of inidan polity.
She has matured and come of age as a politician, strategist and a person capable of thinking in terms of the gains to be reaped in the long term. With her decision she has effectively taken the fuel out of the BJP's campaign against her.
