Why do ppl in India cry over spilt Milk
by Sunil on Jun 20, 2004 01:57 PM

Let me say this it is very easy to sit for so called meetings and discuss about "Who is to be Blamed for the defeat of the NDA". I wonder how many politicians would actually discuss about the Gujarat Victims? Believe me no one would, Coz it took the BJP so much of time to realise it, I find it absolutely ridiculous for Mr.Vajpayee to find Mr.Modi responsible for the Gujarat riots when Mr.Vajpayee was handling the so called highest post in the country "The Prime Minister", he could have worked wonders then, Why now? ....Dear Politicians Please spare our country......Every Indian knows what the TRUTH is all about and what the consequences of the meetings that are going to be held in Mumbai are going to be, Well it's gonna be COMPROMISE between all the heads in the party all for the sake of gaining power even if it means killing your living conscience

modi's ouster in gujarat
by h.c.pandey on Jun 19, 2004 12:45 PM

It is unfortunate that after godhra our english media acted in a state of hysteria while reporting the happenings in gujarat thereafter. True Godhra and its aftermath was a blot on our nation and it should have been handled more humanely. But then riots are regular affairs in this country and thousands of them have occurred during the last 50 years. Much more lives were lost in them and not much sane action was taken by the then administrators. But our 'enlightened' english media could not take a balanced view of all this and reported all the gory details in minutest way forgetting completely that the visual reporting was causing havoc in the people's minds. After all what they gained from such blatant reporting except the feeling of 'going first' to the public. All these factors have never been analysed till today by any agency.

I want to draw a parallel of gujarat aberration with the 'sikhs massacre' of 1984 after the assasination of Indira Gandhi. This official massacre was sponsored by the central govt.leadership and in no time Rajiv Gandhi was installed the new Prime Minister of India. The media remained tight-lipped all through. Rest I leave to our great MEDIA

Possible change in leadership
by anish george on Jun 19, 2004 04:11 AM

The imminent change in leadership is watched closely by all quarters of the society; the common man is looking for peaceful surroundings and not armed rogues looting and torching the streets in the name of religion. Anything that can bring about a change is welcome!

Scape goat
by Ranganath on Jun 19, 2004 01:08 AM

This is utter nonsense... Modi is being made the scape goat. Whatever Modi did is for the well being of the nation and Gujrat in particular. Modi is our greatest leader. Vajpayee should take sanyasa from politics. Hez too old to think about India's future now.
