No Doubt Dhananjay have done the big crime, and now he is paying for this. But what his family has done? Does anybody thought in this regards? And after his death. Does the crime will stop?

Mighty rule the law?
by B.Gautam on Aug 13, 2004 12:21 AM

The cruel claws of law are extremely prompt to offer the severest punishments to the accused persons of crimes from the downtrodden and most vulnerable weaker sections, while people of India watch silently the vultures of crimes manage to freely occupy top most positions even after committing scores of crimes that are more serious in nature! Present democracy in India is so notorious that the mighty by wealth and muscle power run this country with law in their hands!

o.k but/if/...?
by lalit sahu on Aug 12, 2004 07:44 PM

ultimately Dhananjay is paying for what ever he had committed in long past.the law and every authority seems very anxious to hang him.but the indian newspaper comes with such crime report every alternate day.what happens to them?the death sententence should also come in the same rate.
may i ask why the 30 convict declared by chennai court in 1998 in assasination of late PM Rajeev gandhi is safe so far?
and so is the case of Dara singh ,who disreputed India in international level?
is mr Dhananjay seems as bigger criminal as compared to them?

law implementaion
by vijayakumar on Aug 12, 2004 04:15 PM

Dhananjoy's moment of truth has finally arrived as his last minute petition has been rejected by the supreme court. But, the implementors of law are not consistent. It has to be applied in the same way for all. I have one final word about death penalty. Death sentence is not at all a punishment as it cannot be rolled back, in case an innocent is hanged to death. The punishment for the crime should be heavy but not death sentence.

crime and punishment
by A.H. Venkatachalam on Aug 11, 2004 10:04 AM

God creates man. Man abuses and destroys. No sane religion advocates `Tit for tat'. We lived in times of Mahatma Gandhi and Tamil poet Mahakavi Bharathi. Gandhiji preached ahimsa. Bharathi exhorted, "Oh! Good heart, bless thy enemy" (Tamil : `Pahaivanakku arulvai nannenjey"). Both Gandhi and Bharathi have written treatises on Bhagavad Gita. Both are admirers of Lord Krishna. In my view both of them are even an improvement on the Lord if we care to digest the essence of their sayings. Granting that it has been proved beyond an iota of doubt that he was the culprit, Dhananjoy and his family have already suffered untold agony and mental torture for his crime. He will not and will not be allowed by the State to repeat his crime. However great a man may be, he cannot afford to take upon himself the role of God. Two wrongs cannot make a right. I fervemtly hope that the decision will be reviewed before it is too late.

When the punishment is severe there is a great chance of minimising the crime
