UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL
by Malaysian Indian on Mar 31, 2003 03:41 PM  | Hide replies

I am a Malaysian Indian but i was brought up and bred in India. After my education, I came back to Malaysia.

Rajeev's Perception Of Malaysia is incorrect. Malaysian Chinese have nothing to do with this incident.
It is solely to be blamed on the Malaysian Police and a small group of people. They were not provoked by Malaysian Chinese.

Most Malaysian Muslims are very nice. Muslims who are creating problems in Malaysia are those Indonesians who have Malaysian PR.

Another important message I wish to highlight.

Please do not look down at all "Malaysian Indians" just because most of them came to Malaysia as rubber tappers. Though most of them came as rubbber tappers, the best doctors in Malaysia are Malaysian Indians. Though we are minority, we Malaysian Indian doctors are more in number compared to other races. The best lawyers and teachers are also Malaysian Indians. The richest man in Malaysia is an Indian "Anantha Krishnan".

For instance, In India the most backward class doesn't seem to advance. They do the same profession that their parents were doing(example: construction workers, cleaners).
The most beautiful thing in Malaysia is "Lot of rubber tappers have children who are Doctors and Lawyers".

Malaysia is a heaven on earth because three different races are living in harmony. In India people fight among themselves.

Last thing that I would like to say is

I feel sad because our Indian brothers were harrased. I wish those who are responsible should be punished. Don't condemn the whole country without knowing the truth.

I love both India and Malaysia. Both have their Merits and Demerits.

We Indians have to be united irrespective of our nationalities. Wherever we go , wherever we stay, we are still called INDIAN. WE SHOULD BE PROUD OF OUR RACE.

"UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL".

An introduction to R. Srinivasan
by Jagadeesh on Mar 27, 2003 06:40 PM

Mr Rajeev Srinivasan's propensity to assign motives where none exists comes as no surprise to long time readers of rediff. A couple of samples to show the extent to which he will go:

Who killed the royal family of Nepal? (June 4, 2001) : "When the dust settles, I suspect we will find that poor King Birendra and most of his family were massacred not because of their son's love-life, but simply and cold-bloodedly as part of the Sino-Islamic attack on Hindu civilization."

Why George Fernandez had to resign as defence minister (after the Tehelka expose)? (March 17, 2001) : "Because Fernandes made the classic mistake of telling the truth: that India is in grave danger from China."

Could'nt agree more!

Mr. Rajeev Srinivasan's assessment of the Chinese motives is absolutely correct. I was a SAP consultant working for a company in Singapore, where the Chinese dominate the social hierarchy. As a first-timer to witness and experience any other culture other than Indian, I was shocked at the neglect (read derision) that Indians suffered at the hands of the Chinese. They would simply refuse to accept the Indians as a force majeure in the IT space.

It is very good article and it goes show what india can do to malaysia.

Malaysia awake to synergies that exist between india and malaysia.
Don't get fooled by the chinese!

Rajeev, why don't you write these great articles in all the printed newspapers that circulate crazy pessimistic stories about indians and india.
Please I beg you write atleast in one or two most popular newspapers in india. Many people still can't afford internet. You writing these great articles in the newspapers with help all such people understand India better.

Hello Rajeevji,

It is time our humanity looks at incidents square in the face and detemine the fallacies of our own actions - be it the Hindus in Gujarat and Ayodhya, the Muslims in Kashmir and Bangladesh, or the Americans in the United States. If we want humanity to progress and evolve we must take a look in the mirror. Many Indians were furious @ the spread in the NYT early Feb. on the riots in Gujarat. If Misraji article hurts, then do something so history does not repeat itself! Hate and anger will lead us nowhere. Only understanding and compassion will. Washington, D.C., USA

As person who live in US for the past 35 years and travelling to Malaysia and India 6 times a year, I find your observations are right on the money. My are eyes are opened with some of your comments. But I stongly believe that there is lot of goodwill for Indians from India in Malaysia. We have been working with the hightest level of the governamant officials on projects in Inida and Sri Lanka. Hope this is an isolated incident. I am planning to talk to the right people during my next trip. Keep up the good work.
