Dear Rajeev,

Before writing this big article you should have spoken to those few guys who were manhandled by the police. What they were doing? Why they were treated so badly?. Unless and until you do something wrong people will never harras you. No matter which country you are staying in.

No doubt Malaysian Police have taken extreme stand and unnecessarily have harrased innocent people who had nothing to do with the other group. But before giving it a religious or political color we should also look at the other posibilities ...

Prashant

Do we ever learn to admit to any wrongdoing on our part? Why is it that we have to condone people who misuse visa to gain employment in another country , if they indeed were doing that? Why is it so difficult to admit these folks may have misbehaved in some way with the locals? After all these guys were lodged in a predominantly Indian area.

I could not agree more with Mr Srinivasan's analysis regarding some of the recent incidents. I have visited Malaysia number of times for business trips and seen the country. It is unthinkable that such a thing can a happen in a pluralistic society like Malyasia, unless there are ulterior motives and doctored thinking and prodding by the establistment. Our leftists have fossilised thinking about the world view and realities of 'realpolitick'. They are the masters of making 'historical blunders'. I also agree that we have to be wary of Chinese moves on the chess board and they have a firm belief in containing India which many in India can not see clearly and the games they have been playing for the last 50 years

Excellent article!
Alternative to english media's motivated propoganda is to use of a credible news site by western media. The connections and leanings of editors in indian english media be brought to the notice of western media.
I feel the indian english media (the fourth pillar)has regularly tried to redicule and trivilise the other three pillars. They regularly redicule parliament and parliamentariens with good support from the latter. They rediculed presidency (remember the president's hair style campaign). They are after judiciary in a subtle way as judiciary is quite touchy and does not hesitate to start contempt proceedings, they have vertually taken over the role of opposition outside the parliament.

there seems team to be well defined and designed action plan.

Wonderful Article

In the absence of Varsha Bhosle (God only knows the reasons), Rajeev is one columnist who can write with conviction & boldness.
I think the two angles he mentions may not be exclusive. The actual result may be outcome of bothe angles at work.
Anyway, great insights!
