First of all, kudos to Mr. Gautier for his courage in publishing such well articulated essays!
To understand what Mr. Gautier is eluding to, just look at the Parsi community in Mumbai!!!
One thousand years ago, Parsis (also called Zoroastrians) numbered about 40-50 million in Iran. Today there are only 100,000 Parsis left in the whole world! The Islamic armies persecuted Parsis to the point of extinction, and converted the people to Islam at the fear of death. The remaining Parsis (~100,000) fled to India and made Mumbai their home. Parsis have lived in India peacefully, with not a single incidence of persecution!
To all secularist Hindus: Is this how you want Hindus to end up? Is this what your "sycophantic tolerance" teaches you?
Tolerance is a good virtue, but when tolerance is abused, violence IS necessary. Violence for self-defence is NOT BAD, but is the very basis by which a species survives!
Another point to be made is that History must NEVER be forgotten. Because when history is forgotten, the crimes are repeated. Look at the Jews-- after the Holocaust--they remind the world at each instance, so that it will never be repeated again!!!
Hindus are portreyed as fascists and nazis because they have been failed to save their identity and culture through the peaceful means. So they need to learn from other religions like christianity and islam. Hindus need to adopt those principles. Once you adopt an aggressice attitude, they will be at their feet. You see the statement of Dalai Lama portreying islam as a peaceful religion.
Well done Francois... you are extremely perceptive... Hindus are truly one of the most tolerant people of all time, even to the point of self detrimental righteousness. We are an amazing people who have to learn to stick up for our rights in a cruel world. The plight of Kashmiri Pandits is horrid. It shows the violence and barbarism of the terrorists and Pakistan. No other country in the world would stand silently by in such outrage perpetuated against its own people. It is time to call ourselves a Hindu nation. After all, does not America call itself a Christian Country? does not Saudi Arabia call itself Muslim? Our cautious sentimentalism and protection of minority feelings is pretty ridiculous.
